My 3-Day Weekend

Today is a holiday;

Another 3-day weekend for us eh?
On Saturday I went for lunch with my friend. She wanted Korean food; her favorite porridge thingy like thing on a hot day, I called her insane. Well, eventually since I don’t know what to eat, she got her way to it. We went to Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant.

I ordered noodles, wanted something light and different.

Cold Buckwheat Noodles in Cold Soup with pear, cucumber slices and a hardboiled egg (I don’t remember the name of this dish to be honest hahaha). The meal was refreshing. The whole bowl is cold, the soup is cold and the sweetness yet sourness gives appetite. A good dish for a hot day; don’t let its simple look of the dish deceive you.

Tidbits and Kimchi Pancake
Kimchi Pancake (close view)This is a spicy pancake. Something different from the usual asian style savory pancakes I don’t know how to describe this, but do give it a try.

In the evening I accompany my mom back to her hometown, Seremban for dinner celebration of my eldest uncle’s birthday. I got separated from my mom in seating. I was bored through out the night. Some laughters here and there. So much for being there and taking care of my mom. Thank God I was not bombarded with the “When are you getting married” question. Instead this time round it was “*comes over to hug me* Marrying Singaporean ar!” Er… so my mom told the whole world already. Oh well…

I spent the rest of my 3days break watching Hell Girl Season 3.I finished the whole season in just 3-days haha.

Back to work tomorrow.

How was your 3-day weekend this time?

Char Chan Teng

Yesterday evening I met up with my friend since high school. Still very close up to today, I am glad; though we do not meet much. I still treasure my time with her a lot.

We went to Pyramid, Sunway to have dinner and of course some shopping.
We ate at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng.

We ordered their value set meals which came with :

FruitsWe didn’t eat the fruits, that was the first thing that came out and somehow didn’t appeal to us.

DrinksThis is my Apple juice that requires adding RM1 to get the juices; else their set drink is a coffee or tea. I forgot to take my friend’s drink; she had a glass of Milo.

Sweet Corn Cream Soup with Garlic BreadThis soup wasn’t bad. It had a very strong sweet corn taste which is yummy to me. The garlic came with the dessert which was weird hahaha but I took this picture after the garlic bread arrived. The garlic bread is delicious! Sufficient garlic and butter taste. Yum~

Cheese Baked Beef RiceMy friend’s dinner; It is nicely baked but I find it not cheesy enough. My friend of course loves it :).

Grilled Pork Chop (blur picture, lousy camera holder :P)This is my order; I was expecting a Hong Kong theme restaurant to have a good pork chop meal. Well, other than the pork chop was too thin in slice and eventually made the pork chop a tad dry. Minus the dryness, the pork chop actually tasted not too bad.

DessertThis taste like strawberry jam :P.

Every dish came out very early! Supposedly be after your meals, but everything came at one shot! Dessert was the 4th thing that came to our table. So if you’re looking for fine dining service like appetizer / starter, main course, dessert and along that line… don’t expect from this place!

It is a good meal, especially since the companion is a really good one. Thank you my friend for accompanying me for dinner and to shop for my stuffs.

Have you been to this “Char Chan Teng” before?

Warm Lunch

Today is a cold day. Rained all morning and there wasn’t much sun the last few days. So I was craving for hot soup lunch and Thank God my friend called me for lunch! She was craving for hot soup lunch too! Hahaha!

So my friend suggested to go to Kopitiam, Taipan USJ 10.

We had “Teh Si”.This cost RM2.40. I drank with no sugar at first to taste. Then I added a sachet of sugar in for some sweetness.

We both ordered the Shredded Chicken Koay Teow. This bowl of noodles cost RM4.20. It was a warming meal. The soup was sweet I believed they cooked the chicken in it too, yet it wasn't oily. I wonder if it is the MSG they put in. For a cold day, this was a really refreshing meal.

Ordered a Mango Prawn too. This cost RM6.90. The presentation is a wow! I like how they decorated with the mango sauce. The whole fried thing was delicious except the mangoes inside was too ripe. My friend and I suspected they used ripe mangoes to wrap it in the roll and then when they fry it, it became too cooked. Could it be?

The total bill came to RM21.20 inclusive of service tax, but no government tax. Wonder why. Of course RM10.00 a meal is a tad too expensive, I can never resist anything with mango hehee or even cheese! But if we didn't order the mango prawn it would of been RM7.00. Oh well...

Overall I had a good warm lunch. Thanks to my friend.
