Today is a cold day. Rained all morning and there wasn’t much sun the last few days. So I was craving for hot soup lunch and Thank God my friend called me for lunch! She was craving for hot soup lunch too! Hahaha!
So my friend suggested to go to Kopitiam, Taipan USJ 10.
We had “Teh Si”.
This cost RM2.40. I drank with no sugar at first to taste. Then I added a sachet of sugar in for some sweetness.
We both ordered the Shredded Chicken Koay Teow.
This bowl of noodles cost RM4.20. It was a warming meal. The soup was sweet I believed they cooked the chicken in it too, yet it wasn't oily. I wonder if it is the MSG they put in. For a cold day, this was a really refreshing meal.
Ordered a Mango Prawn too.
This cost RM6.90. The presentation is a wow! I like how they decorated with the mango sauce. The whole fried thing was delicious except the mangoes inside was too ripe. My friend and I suspected they used ripe mangoes to wrap it in the roll and then when they fry it, it became too cooked. Could it be?
The total bill came to RM21.20 inclusive of service tax, but no government tax. Wonder why. Of course RM10.00 a meal is a tad too expensive, I can never resist anything with mango hehee or even cheese! But if we didn't order the mango prawn it would of been RM7.00. Oh well...
Overall I had a good warm lunch. Thanks to my friend.

for a different eating experience, i think it's ok what you had. I agree with the mango, it would have been better if it's not too ripe.

Tekkaus : Yea it is haha... I think if I go to a normal kopitiam, it would be cheap lah. Everything in KL is expensive...
Yea it was yummy, especially on such a cold day! Mango prawn nothing to shout about, but I think because in KL everything is like that now =x.

BengBeng : Well, that is KL... of course there are cheaper food, but eventually a lot of people rather go to those commercialized places now so they boom very fast.

reanaclaire : I think you can find them most at those commercilaized type of "Kopitiam". The stripes are mango sauce... But I wonder how they made that or is there any that comes in a bottle.
Faisal : To be honest, I am stingy too! I need every cents I earn. But guess if it is once in a while, it is ok. Not everyday, I might burn myself from the fire in the pocket :P.

Yea it is nice... sweet yet salty. but this one made the mango too ripe.. so the mango inside tasted weird.

i do sometimes suddenly crave for hot soup meals.. it's always nice to be invited for lunch, especially when your company is thinking alike what to have as well.. :)

I like to steamboat on a cold day! Nowadays, kopitiam rather expensive, don't you think? But people still go there even if the food not that nice, Wonder why?

oh my, the teh C is so pricey in KL. the price is almost equivalent to a bowl of noodles in Penang or Kedah.
the mango prawn sure looks scrumptious but I agree with u, the taste would definitely have been more delicious if not for the overiped mango.
