And I tried again...

I remember there was this one time that I tried to make Carbonara Pasta but failed miserably. This time I tried again and of course with hubs helping;

The ingredients (serves two person):
200gm of Spaghetti
1 whole garlic
1 Yellow Onion
1 ½ cup cream
Ingredients of your desire choice of quantity:
White Mushrooms
Sausages
Bacon (you can replace this with ham or do without)

Ingredients are to be cut to desire size. Garlic and yellow onions are to be diced.

I begin with putting in some butter to a ready hot frying pan and another pot of boiling water to cook the pasta make sure to add a pinch of salt to have the water boil faster.

That is to fry the bacons to brown, to be crispy.

Remove the bacon after reaching desire taste, throw in the garlic and yellow onions to fry.

By now the water should be boiled, put in the pasta to be cook.

Then add in the mushrooms with the frying garlic and onions.

Put in the sausages when the mushrooms are slightly browned.

Pour the cream in gradually and stir it.

Cook it some, boil it some and it should look about like this.

Add some grinded peppercorns for taste.

Pasta should be cooked by now.

Drain the water out of the pasta and pour on the plate with some butter for taste.

The sauce is ready to b pour onto the pasta as well.

Pasta with Cream Sauce.

Topped with bacon.

Oh this was a success. Hubs and I enjoyed it and will cook it again soon.

So you going to try your own carbonara?

ShingoT : Oh? Tomato sauce self-made? I don't know how, I always end up using those premade ones which I find not to my liking :/ Got to learn how to make that sauce too hehe!

ladyviral said...

Kucing : It is easy! Once I succeed, it wasn't all that hard anymore. I used to think it was hard too hehe

ladyviral said...

Pikey : Oh that sure sounds like a great idea! Will try that next time. But any recommendation of cheese?

Pike-chan said...

Eeerr.. no idea wor... for me, i will just grab whatever at the supermarket counter, lols

ladyviral said...

Pikey : Hahaha!

I tried parmesan cheese before... the powedred form... it was a disaster... ruined the cream taste imo. Maybe I should try using the block type next time >.>

oh that looks very nice!!! there are my favourite sausages and bacons in it.. slurp~~~

but when i cook pasta, i love to dump in the pasta and cook together with the sauce for a while instead of just pouring it over the pasta.. i feel it taste better this way :)

The important lesson here is you didn't give up. Sometimes people give up making the same dish they failed the first time because fear of failing again. I make mine using marinara sauce with cabernet wine. My kids love carbonara over simple spaghetti.

yummm!!!! i can't wait to try cooking this too :D

Wow looks very yummy and creamy!

U should actually cook the pasta til its 80% cooked then fry them with the sauce until fully cooked. The pasta will absorb the sauce :)

ladyviral said...

BengBeng : you never try you never know leh :P

ladyviral said...

Gallivanter : Pizza? Hmmm Ought to try hehehe :P

ladyviral said...

levian : It is quite easy in fact! Ask your boyfriend to help you :p.

ladyviral said...

lina : Hungry yet? haha!

ladyviral said...

Ben : Try to cook yourself soon! ^_^

ladyviral said...

SK : Oh yes they are my favorite too!

Cook the sauce a bit with the pasta inside? Hmmm I tried with Tomato sauce but I didn't like it.. maybe should try with Carbonara.

ladyviral said...

Rose : Marinara sauce and cabernet wine... wow... the wine would make is exquisite. Maybe I will try that next time.

ladyviral said...

Kristin : Going to try it out? :)

ladyviral said...

Kelvin : Oh.. absorb ar... would it make the pasta soggy?

Hi there! It took me awhile to visit your blog :)

I've tried cooking carbonara before and end up finishing by myself =P

Hubby prefers spaghetti over carbonara. Hehehehehe. His not a big fan of white sauce for some reason.
