Backdated - Went to Church for Lunch

So here I come back to my backdated post of the week in Singapore. I continue from my last post where hubby and I spent a day out with my family and they never showed up in the pictures.

On the next day – 21st September 2009, Monday;

Hubby and I decided to bring them for lunch before heading to the airport to send them off to go home. So we decided to go to Church… that is now an F & B place. The place is called Chijmes.Chijmes used to be a church in the good old days before the conversion to an F & B place. To know more about Chijmes click here as I do not want to bored you out with its history hehe :P.

Opposite Chijmes is Stanford Court. In case anyone is in the area and wants to know where is Chijmes is or vice versa.

The interior of Chijmes of course is beautifully structure… look at the water fountains.Reminds me of places in Europe I saw in movies.

Eat outside by the water fountain.Wouldn’t it be nice… refreshing place to eat dinner with? Of course this picture is taken during the day, and the sun is shining or so brightly! But I believe the night would be recommended. Of course that is to me, but those who love the sunlight, it would be a really nice place to be~

How about this?Eat at the surrounding of a park, trees… be a great environment when the wind blows. Reminds me of Paris somehow, I wonder why.

Of course my family and we did not have our lunch outside, it was too hot and most of the restaurants are not open yet. Based on the List of F & B Tenants in Chijmes, looks like most of the tenants only open after 3pm.
Hubby and I wanted to bring my family so the Cosafe Maid Bar and Restaurant, hubby told me a girl of age 16 (of course that is in the year of 2006, so means she is 18 now) runs the place, but too bad it wasn’t open yet. So we ended up in Hog’s Breathe. No pictures of the food were taken, we were too hungry, we forgot.

After that my family left Singapore. Hubby and I get our own time to ourselves. We can relax more and there is no need to rush about to bring them around anymore. A sigh of relieve.

Hope I didn’t bored you out with this post. Not much of pictures to see and not much to laugh about.

Next Post Dinner at Singapore Turf Club.

I've been to Chijmes before, after ESPN used it as the EPL base a few years ago. Nice place. :-)

you are gonna write more about food! :p this is such a beautiful place for lunch if not for the hot weather. fortunately we didn't have to be lured by the food this time. safe! :p

ladyviral said...

kenwooi : Oh yea it does ^_^. Glad I am not the only one who think that way haha~

ladyviral said...

lina : Yea it was, my first time there and I was awe~

The Turf Club dinner didn't happen until later of the week :P. In the middle I got nothing to post mar haha~

Well, have a late evening dinner, I am sure it would be nice ^_^. If there was wind, be nicer!

ladyviral said...

levian : Maybe food... maybe not... depends :P.

Oh yes it is a beautiful place for lunch... now if we have autumn or spring, this place be nice for the ambience then and the refreshing environment for the food.

No lure by food? :P I have been luring you all? haha! Well, it would be fun to let you all loose once in a while :P.

lol. at first i read "a day without family". then i had to re-read to make sure, my eyes still functioning.

ah, i like to eat at place with environment like that. so cool!

Salitype said...

that is a lovely place to dine out...open space yet secluded! yeah, i believed dinner will be romantic in such a place!

ladyviral said...

sunnymama : Oh yes it is! But for Malaysians / Singaporeans we prefer a shadier place. I think because we spent our time too much with tropical weather haha.

ladyviral said...

Tekkaus : I never tried it too.. but I bet it would definitely be nice. During dinner it might make the place dark and we can't see much though... cloudy days be best!

ladyviral said...

xin : Oh yes it is. As long as the sun is shining too brightly it be good ^_^.

ladyviral said...

Faisal : Hahaha! time for spectacles... that actually made me go see if I typed something wrong haha.

Oh yes it would be nice.. but only when the sun isn't shining too brightly :).

How come a beautiful church ended up being an F&B place? Sad...

ladyviral said...

Salitype : Oh I never thoug of it being romantic... Wow! Now that you mentioned it, it sure does would be! Imagine candle light dinner with other lights being a far around and the candle to light up the table... ooooh so sweet~

ladyviral said...

Mei Teng : I believe the church decided to move or something, so instead of making this place an abandoned place, they convert it to preserve the building :).

babYpose said...

it is beautiful place to unwind and dine. i've been there long time ago, if ever a chance, like to go there again with family. About your comment exercise in the water, I just read in the magazine, The new way to ease delivery pain : Water aerobics
Researchers from the University of Campinas in Brazil may have just come up with a solution : They've discovered that only 27 percent of women who performed water aerobics thrice weekly asked for pain medication, compared to 5 percent of the women who didnt. Thanks so much for the comment, time to workout in the pool ya :)

Pete said...

Wow, looks like a nice place for a meal....would love to eat outdoor if it is not hot.

levian said...

oh, you are all so kind to let us loose once in a while. how every noble of you. :p ah yes, i believe if we do have different seasons, the environment would be so refreshing n different. which make it sounds rather exciting, doesn't it! :D

ladyviral said...

babypose : Oh yes be nice to go again ^_^.

Pregnant ladies who did water exercise - 27% asked for pain medication and 5% didn't... Hmm... that is like saying "doesn't work!" haha. But who knows.. 5% was good ;).

ladyviral said...

Pete : Oh yes... it would of been nice maybe in the good old days when the sun isn't so hot. giving the weather now, we be happy in shaded areas haaha.

ladyviral said...

levian : Hahaha~ Don't make sound like as though I am mean :P. See which is why I don't post about food all the time haha.

Oh yea it would definitely be good! Imagine Spring or autumn... oh what a scene...

levian said...

ahaha, my bad my bad, i just love playing with you. i imagined you to be so much fun to hang around with! :D i bet if we do have seasons around here, there will be so much more photographs to show on blogs. not to mention, completely different feeling for the same scenery! :)

ladyviral said...

joe : I want to see that for real :P

ladyviral said...

levian : Hahaha! I know you're playing.. what would it be if I didn't play a bit back :P.

Oh yes I would love to see autumn! The red, yellow gold leaves! Winter all white and cold... oh yes the different feeling everyone would have every single day. Right now it is Sunny... Rainy... Sunny... COLD AR Rain all day! >.<

I want four seasons *teary eyes*

RoseBelle said...

I've never been to Singapore and am surprised to see some of their places look so Europeanish. Chijmes is looks beautiful...the church or what was once a church looks so elegant or maybe they renovated it to look the way it does now?? You mentioned it was hot, I thought the weather would be cooler in September in the East Asia region. Well, great to know, if I do visit, I want pack heavy winter clothes!

ladyviral said...

Rose : Yea it does look europeanish haha. But I think it is only this place, at least so far I have gone too :P. Not sure how the church looked like back then or did they purposely converted it to be like this, I can't find anywhere of old pictures of Chjimes when it was still a chapel.

Oh not all East Asia Region have cold weathers. Maybe places like China, Japan or Korea might.

But places like Singapore, Malaysia (just to name a few) are tropical weather countries. Only Rain and Sun... So you really don't have to pack winter clothings at all. If it is really cold, a jacket should be fine for you all I believe :).

levian said...

don't look at me with those teary (n most probably puppy) eyes! i love the rainy days, if not the sunny days, but for once, i wanted to give you the 4 seasons just so i can experience it myself as well. :) the weather before winter is fall? i experience that myself n love it so much! all the time i just felt like snuggling beside someone warm. :p

ladyviral said...

levian : Puppy eyes? don't worry... I always have a problem making those haha! Rainy days I like.. especially when I sit by a window and read a good book... but that is something I can't do in my house :P. Lousy windows!

Fall / Autumn <3 I love those the best least from what I hear... I have not experienced it before though so sad oh so sad~

Kelvin said...

I from Sg but i found it so boring there...

levian said...

i can't do that too, sitting by the window n read. for me, the windows kinda reflect n make everything too bright for the eyes, haha! but i don't mind sitting somewhere else while i read. rain always makes the room so much more comfortable n cool to stay in. how about going places? honeymoon maybe? :p

ladyviral said...

Kelvin : Maybe because I am not from Singapore haha. But I will be in singapore soon I hope :P.

ladyviral said...

levian : Oh sitting by the window and reading is only on rainy days... so no bright sun reflecting at all :P.

Going places will happen... just not yet. Maybe soon... I would wish to go Holland :P.

levian said...

holland! woot, that is such a cool place to be! the more we talk about it, the more i felt like having a vacation. it will be so cool to take a break (like always). :p ah, no sun, no wonder you can sit by the window n enjoy yourself. ah, it sounds so good right now imagining it! ;)

ladyviral said...

levian : Oh yes... I would love to go... and since one of my closest friend I met over the net is there too :D. His family has a farm... but funt o be there! (since I haven't been on a farm before zzzzzz)

Imagining it is fun indeed... now... if only we can really do it :P.

levian said...

neither have i been to a farm before. it sure will be fun to visit one, especially those fruits farms! :p oh yes we do! since we are spontaneous beings, we can do it when we feel like it. ;)

ladyviral said...

levian : Fruit farm? I would like all farms! Animals, fruits... other than being a frog under well of it, I believe it would be peaceful and all the sounds of serenity XD (minus the moo-ing, clucking, baa-ing).
