Jelly Mooncakes

I am still posting about the mooncakes :P. I will come to my backdated events soon. Do stay tune!

I thought every Jelly Mooncakes in my previous post are all filled with Red Bean paste; but I was wrong.

Here is what is really filled inside the jelly mooncakes!

Pink (well, my picture in the previous looks orangey hehehe and this picture looks orangey too! But it is really pink); This is made of the pink coloring I think, cause I taste nothing from the "skin" and filled with red bean. Not at all sweet and just nice! Can you see the jelly yolk? Hehehe. Maybe too dark to see.

Yellow; It is made of corn! the whole yellow jelly mooncake is made of corn. Looks corn pieces in it.

Green; This one is made of pandan and filled with green bean paste. Another jelly yolk hehe. Looks like lotus filled mooncake with single yolk yea?

I didn't managed to shoot pictures of the chocolate one. By the time I reach home; I found it cut up and only my two slices was left for me and because it would look so measly if I shot the picture, so I decided not to shoot any at all. but the chocolate one was VERY sweet least in my opinion. The jelly is made of Milo and the filling was cocoa (I am not sure :P just my guess). Well, since I am not much of a chocolate person, maybe that is why hehe (sorry chocolate lovers that you do not get to see the chocolate mooncake).

Well, Jelly mooncakes are all eaten up by now! My family enjoyed it so much they finished it all up by the weekend! Sorry to those who wanted pieces of it; you missed it all this weekend. Well, you get them in shots now :P.

I didn't managed to see the full moon on Saturday nor did I see any lanterns. I stayed in the house throughout the weekend. So I guess my mid-autumn festival went by with me playing game :P haha.

How did you spend your 15th day of the lunar calendar? Did you go anywhere, play lanterns or watch any lantern parade?

Mooncakes are really getting creative these days!

The ones filled with durian flesh is really expensive. Cost RM14 for one the size is much smaller than the regular mooncakes.

i think i prefer the traditional mooncakes to the jellly ones. in other words, they are not popular in my household.

LifeRamblings said...

i enjoyed myself tremendously eating lots of yummy food, catching up with friends while watching the kids participating in lantern walk. no time to even gazed at the moon. :D

ladyviral said...

Life Ramblings : Oh Jelly mooncakes itself is new to me... hehe :P.

I am not so a traditional mooncake person anymore. The old days mooncakes was yes I would say I love them! But the ones at of present days, are just TOO sweet. So this jelly mooncakes is much more refreshing :).

I am glad you enjoyed yourself. I did not managed to see the moon at all hehee. I wish I had such events at my place with my friends :P.

Hi LadyV,
Thks for dropping by my blog for the durian jelly mooncake. I am too sick to make more varieties this year due to my arthritis pain. I will try on more fillings next year. You have wonderful pics of some varieties here. You can try making some of yr own and be more creative with some of my recipes I shared in my blog. Cheers!
p.s- I would love those with cream cheese fillings using fruits.

ladyviral said...

SweetJasmine : HI there, Jasmine.

Oh I have a few blogger friends who would enjoy your jelly mooncakes! Especially the durian ones.

Oh thanks for the compliments :). But sadly I can't cook. I doubt in succeeding in making those jelly mooncakes or even their fillings hehe. Maybe when I move over to Sg next time I will try to make them for my husband ^-^.

I got your blog linked up so I am sure to find some good stuffs there not to be missed! Thanks alot, Jasmine :).

Cream cheese filling using fruits sounds like a good idea :).
