Hi All,
Sorry for my disappearance; eventually falling sick was definitely a no fun. I am still coughing now, and it somehow seems that my fever would come back anytime which is no good if it does. So I am feeling up to the weather today, so I decided to drop by and see what’s going on in the blogosphere and of course post as well ^_^v.
Today I will be posting of food! Yes you hear me right foooood :p.
Before proceeding to the food, I would like to apologize to any Malay readers of my blog as this will be “non-halal”.
I always loved my mom’s braised pig’s heart but never knew how to cook it. So when I went back to Malaysia I asked my mom and only to find out it was easy peasy! Geeez! Haha. So I tried to cook it (lets hope I don’t poison hubs haha!)
Ingredients: 1 whole Pig’s Heart
100gm Sliced Pork 3-4 Cloves of diced Garlic
4 diced Shallots
4 tbs Soya Sauce
2 tbs Dark Soya Sauce
1 tbs Chinese Cooking Wine.
Marinade the sliced pig’s heart & sliced pork with soya sauce, dark soya sauce and chinese cooking wine. Put it in the refrigerator to let the marinating sit in for about 15minutes.
Then heat up the frying pan with some oil (I used pork lard oil). Put in the garlic and shallots, fry until slightly brown, then put in the marinated pig’s heart and sliced pork. Stir fry for about 15minutes and if you like more sauce just add more water soya sauce to make sure the saltiness remains.
Then your pig’s hearts is ready to be served with rice.
I always love this dish with only rice.
I am a really saucy person for this dish so technically I would definitely have more of it haha!
Hope you enjoy this :).

this looks tempting but I am temporarily a vegetarian now . I have had a series of ops this yr with the present one being the fifth. Keeping my fingers crossed it is the last n final one this year. :) I was under a dr who is supposed to b among the best in the profession so I am more confident of the outcome now. :)
sorry to hear that. Get well soon. I hate coughing
It is no fun coughing, hope you get well soon. It is always good to learn cooking from your mum.
Nothing beats the familiar taste of mum's cooking. :)
oh, you are still not recovered yet?? poor thing, took you so long.. get well soon!!
oh, pig's heart?? is that even edible?? not interesting in heart but just the lean pork, hahaha~~ :D
Looks like a simple dish...but pig's heart? Don't think I'm into those. I would just stick to liver and intestines. Take care there, get well soon...
I love it too!
BengBeng : I hope you are doing ok with this ops. Hopefully it isn't anything major.
Going vegetarian? You need some of those other vitamins that meta gives too right or are you taking supplements?
Hope it is all well with you.
SmallKucing : I know I hate it too! Makes sleeping so hard :(.
Thanks alot for the well wishes. :)
Quay Po : Yea it isn't. lack of sleep its making it worse.
Hahaha and when I asked my mom, she said "now only want to learn to cook" zzzz.. got lectured haha!
lina : I couldn't agree more! Always bring back memories when it is succeed :p.
SK : Yea so long! I wanna throw my throat out liao!
Pig's heart? Oh my it is delicious! I don't take the kidney nor the liver, but this is yummy! Should try :p.
suituapui : you take liver and intestines but not the heart? Why?
wenn : Yay! High Five!
You take care on your cough. Seldom eat pig's heart but love cow's heart. Have stopped eating the 'spare parts' due to high uric acid and also no beef as well.
Guess when you get the hang of it.. cooking is easy peasy.
Hi Lady Viral, your mom must be a gourmet cook, with a black belt.
Nothing like learning from mom....
Good for you.
Looks real good this dish.
Have a nice day.
Lee.
Bananaz : Cow's heart? I have not eaten that before. What does it taste like?
Yea trying to avoid anything that will make the cough worse.
Yep when I get the hang of it, hahah but I am still not a kitchen person though >.<;
Uncle Lee : Hahaha! Not at all! She is just a simpleton housewife :D.
Would you try it? haha or waiting for me to cook for ya? :p

Oh yes definitely love it :). Do you like it too?
Hi ladyviral,
seriously i'm not very fond of pork. my main diets consist of mainly fish and vegetables.
hope you're getting well LV. best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Life Ramblings : Oh. I love red meat more than white meats. But I guess your diet is healthier than my haha!
I think my has too much protein or something. Might create more problems in the future.
Thanks alot for the well wishes. I hope so too ^_^.
