You say Po-tah-to, I say Po-tay-to

I have been at home a lot lately and it does get to me that I end up bored. So I have been trying to learn on my cooking.

I always love potato salad, of course I never get enough of it and always wonder how people make them.

So I decided to try to make my own after surfing for recipes.

Ingredients (this amount serves 1-2 (for a meal) 2-3 (as a meal side dish)):

500gm Red Skin Potatoes

1 cup Mayonaise

1 tbs Djion Mustard

1 tbs Distilled White Vinegar

1 Whole Yellow Onion - finely chopped (more onions if you like)

2 Eggs

Wash the potatoes of its any dirt on the skin. Bring a pot to put in the potatoes and fill in water to cover the potatoes ans bring to boil for about 15-20minutes. Use a fork to test the potatoes for you want the potatoes to be soft but yet still firm. Set the potatoes aside and let it cool. Once it is cool, cut the potatoes in halves or quarters (up to your liking) leaving the skin on.

Another smaller pot, put the eggs in the water, enough to cover the eggs. Cover the pot, let the water come to a boil and remove from heat immediately. With the pot still cover, leave the eggs in the pot for 15-20minutes. Peel and mash / chop / dice the eggs.

In a bowl mix the Mayonaise, Djion Mustard, Distilled White Vinegar, the chopped onions and the eggs together. Test the sauce and see how you want it to taste. I liked it with more onions so I eventually added another half yellow onion.

Once you are satisfied with the sauce taste, pour it over the now cooled potatoes, mix it and refrigerate the whole thing for about 2-3hours.

Then your potato salad is ready to be serve.

So do you say po-tay-to or po-tah-to?

An Observer...

Days when I have to iron the clothes, I would have this feeling that I am being watched and sure enough I was never wrong when I looked for this observer that just stood at a corner observing me.

The observer being all white, with black patches all over it body will just remain there as long as I am ironing the clothes. If I am there for an hour, it will be there for an hour. Scary much?

So one day, when I was ironing the clothes I decided to bring along my digital camera to see if I can capture this observer and show all of you.

So I did. Here's the white observer each time I iron the clothes.

Hahaha! What were you thinking? :p

MIL's cat.. each time, I mean really each time, if I am ironing the clothes she will stand at that very same corner and observe me from a far.

It is weird honestly, I really wonder why.

Just look at it. Peeking at me... and the best part is, it doesn't do that if hubs is the one ironing. Only when I am ironing.

Curiousity kills the cat? Hehe.

Anyone knows why does the cat do that?

Such Disappointment

Hubs and I went out for some groceries shopping. While we were out, wedecided to have lunch.Hubs craving for “Wan Tan” Noodles so we went to The Old Pontian Café thatis best known for their “Wan Tan” Noodles.

Hubs ordered the Dry (large) “Wan Tan” Noodles, I had the Soup (Small) “WanTan” Noodles.

The cashier actually got hubs order wrong and gave him two dry noodlesinstead of one soup and when hubs told her it was the wrong order, she had thenerve to actually insist that hubs order dry one small one large and kepttrying to argue with hubs. Like what the hell? Unwilling to admit her mistake…duh.

Here is a picture of the noodles I had.

Looks presentable but the tastewas not as good. It was quite bland and the noodles were slightly overcooked soit ended up a bit soggy like.

I didn’t managed to get a picture of hubs noodles, I totally forgot andby the time I remembered, I already actually mix up all the stuffs haha!

Hubs said the noodles was soggy as well and bland. Looks like they willnow be well known for “Soggy, bland noodles”. Guess they no longer as good ashubs used to know it to be.

Totally disappointed, and to worsen the meal the cashier had to be sucha day spoiler. Food is paid upon order so we couldn’t of leave. What would youhave done if you were in that situation?

My Sick Meal

Got to love the Marie Biscuits when soaked in milk and slightly soft,yet not too soft… I should learn how to make this into a dessert thingy. Anyonegot any idea how? Or maybe a good link to lead me to it? I saw a lot of puddingthings, but I want something that has no pudding thingy… nor chocolate toohaha! Anyone? Anyone?

Anyway, eventually my diet from the time I am sick became just whiteporridge and an egg dish.

My personal favourite the minced meat fried egg.

Ingredients:
200gsm of minced meat
3 eggs
1 tbs of dark soya sauce
2 tbs of soya sauce
2 tbs of oil

Mix the egg with the soya sauce and dark soya sauce. Don’t have to beatthe egg too hard, we do not need it too bubbly :p.

Put in the minced meat, mix.

Put the oil in a non-stick frying pan, heat it up, pour in the eggmixture and start frying. You can try to make it in an omelette shape or evenwithout breaking it. But I can never do that, so I find it way easier to justbreak into pieces haha.

With this, and a bowl of plain white porridge I am good for a meal.

Yesterday I went to see the doctor again since my nose started to actup and my cough have worsen every night.

Doctor asked a lot of questions;

Conversation with the doctor :
Doctor : Do you travel by MRT to work?

Me : No I stopped working, haven’t used the MRT since.

Doctor : Why is your body resistance very weak?
Me : *laughed*
(er… shouldn’t you be telling me why, doc? I thought tomyself)

Doctor : You have seen the doctor *flips through my card* December,January, March, April, June, July, August and now…
Me : Er… some of those are mostly stomach discomfort
(feeling like some stupid kid... I think the doctor thinks I am refusing to go to work.)

Doctor : Why not try to avoid using the MRT for 2 months and see how itgoes?
Me : I have not been taking the MRT since I stopped working…
Doctor : Oh, you are resting now
(Yea duh what I said earlier. Were you listening?)
Me : In between jobs.

Doctor : Avoid going near or touching any dogs or cats.
Me : That is going to be hard… there is a cat that stays in the house24 hours a day.

Doctor : What? Cats are the most dangerous creature. Especially theirsaliva; it has a lot of bacteria and viruses. Since you used to be asthmatic,their fur is very critical to you.
(silence….)

Doctor : Ok so you don't need a MC right?
Me : No.
(seriously this doctor wasn't listening -_-;;)

Ok so what should I do? Hubs and I can’t even get it to my MIL’s headthat the cat shouldn’t be in the house at all! I told my husband about it, Iknow it is hard for him… but he got to try. I really don’t want to keep seeingthe doctor and relying on medications like this especially since now that I amspending more time at home than I am out of it, I can’t be sick for so long.

Let’s hope MIL will understand but I have this very heavy doubt it willhappen. If the cat still stays in the house, I might just have to think ofsomething else…

Learning Mom's Recipe...

Hi All,

Sorry for my disappearance; eventually falling sick was definitely a no fun. I am still coughing now, and it somehow seems that my fever would come back anytime which is no good if it does. So I am feeling up to the weather today, so I decided to drop by and see what’s going on in the blogosphere and of course post as well ^_^v.

Today I will be posting of food! Yes you hear me right foooood :p.

Before proceeding to the food, I would like to apologize to any Malay readers of my blog as this will be “non-halal”.

I always loved my mom’s braised pig’s heart but never knew how to cook it. So when I went back to Malaysia I asked my mom and only to find out it was easy peasy! Geeez! Haha.So I tried to cook it (lets hope I don’t poison hubs haha!)

Ingredients:1 whole Pig’s Heart

100gm Sliced Pork3-4 Cloves of diced Garlic

4 diced Shallots
4 tbs Soya Sauce
2 tbs Dark Soya Sauce
1 tbs Chinese Cooking Wine.

Marinade the sliced pig’s heart & sliced pork with soya sauce, dark soya sauce and chinese cooking wine. Put it in the refrigerator to let the marinating sit in for about 15minutes.

Then heat up the frying pan with some oil (I used pork lard oil). Put in the garlic and shallots, fry until slightly brown, then put in the marinated pig’s heart and sliced pork. Stir fry for about 15minutes and if you like more sauce just add more water soya sauce to make sure the saltiness remains.

Then your pig’s hearts is ready to be served with rice.

I always love this dish with only rice.
I am a really saucy person for this dish so technically I would definitely have more of it haha!

I have been busy with job hunting;

and of course attending interviews.

So I didn’t have time to blog even when I am in between jobs now.

Last Sunday I started burning of a 38.5c fever.

Temperature was fluctuating; suddenly it was 38.0c then suddenly I am all right at normal body temperature. But today my temperature is retaining at 38.0c, coughing and feels like pulling my whole throat out.

But today isn’t about my health.

On the 3rd August 2011; hubs was acting extremely weird. Kept going on about something of some surprise which was weird! After some time of waiting for it at home, “the surprise” came. He presented me with “the surprise” and I was like speechless! I actually shrieked and hugged him!

Guess what he gave me?

This mobile phone is like slim, sleek, vivid clear screen. Super amoled plus screen! Look at the screen color.

Don’t mind the picture, my camera was dying -_-;;

Why the surprise gift?

I have been using a HTC Touch HD for 2 years and of course no not because it is an old phone, in fact the phone was really good… but… yes there is a but… I dropped the phone at my office, face down and the screen *craaaaaaack* into pieces. Ah yes, my precious mobile phone screen cracked.

So hubs got me a Samsung Galaxy S II. My first Android mobile phone; making full use of it… downloading every free app I possibly think I need haha!

Thank you hubs for making me awesomely happy. ^_^v

How did I come from?

Ever wonder how the nickname of ladyviral came to me?

The nickname ladyviral came about during the days of mIRC. That was like more than a decade ago!
It all started when my love for Vipers (it was a car! Not the person!)

and decided to called myself “ViperGal”. But during that time, there was this guy named V|pEr (or something) and everyone kept asking me “Are you Viper’s girlfriend?” Er… Who is Viper?

Even at some point of time, Mr. Viper and I actually was like “ok since everyone said we are an item, might as well just say yes to stop them from asking hahaha!”

But eventually then I got bored after. I wanted a name that starts with V. I went from Vain, to Veins, to Vin and was like… eh? Sounds uncool!

So then I went for Virus and to make me known as a female I added Lady in front of Virus.

But it was still uncool. It was too common, too bland. I actually flipped the dictionary back then to see what other meaning was there for Virus and I found Viral. Sounds special, unique and no body would know about it (back then of course)! I got asked a lot “What does Viral means?” I replied “Something that infects you” :p

So that is how the nickname ladyviral came about. Lame right? I know… (-_-);;

Keep Falling...

Saturday hubs and I decided to go to Chinatown to eat porridge dinner.

Journey there was all good, we had snacks on the way (ah yes… snacks… so much for diet right? >.<) The porridge place is always crowded, so sharing table was always the only option.

Throughout the meal it was normal. Hubs and I had froggies cooked in black sweet sauce. As the meal was about to come to an end, one of the ginger dropped on me and stained my shorts.

Eager to wash it, I pushed the chair I was on to get up;

The leg of the chair instead of moving got stuck; bend and I fell on my bump.

Knock on my head to the table behind me and was like having all crowd eyes on me. What do people do? Watched….

Then I got up, to walk over to the toilet to get my shorts washed. Missed the kerb step, tripped and fell down, scrapping my right knee.

As I was down, all I heard was someone going “Oh My God” right beside me. Er… so where was the help to get me up? Ok... maybe because I am female, people don't want to be like sued for molest haha!

Besides that, it was like catastrophe! One bad thing happened right after another. I wonder why… Could it be a sign of something?

Brainstorming...

Hubs and I sometimes would have this massive brainstorm just to think of what to eat. To the extend we give up sometimes haha.

But when we are not too tired, we will cook.

My favourite easy dish to make;

Ingredients (serves 2-3 person)
5 shitake mushrooms (you can more if you a real mushroomy person), sliced
200grams minced meat (pork, chicken, beef either is fine… I don’t know about fish don’t ask :P)
5-6 cloves, diced (add more if you are a garlic fan)
1 whole yellow onion, diced
200grams spaghetti
Optional ingredient
4 pieces crabstick

1) Cook the pasta in a pot;

2) Soak the sliced mushroom into the water, add some salt in to make the mushroom slightly salty.

3) Marinate the minced meat with corn flour and soya sauce.

4) (optional step) Stir-fry the minced meat, until slightly brown (cook) put aside.

5) Fry the crabstick in the pan with the minced meat juices, put aside cook.

6) (still don’t have to clean the pan) throw in the garlic and onion, fry until slightly brown,

7) Put in the minced meat and fry for about 1minute or until the minced meat is cook if step 3 was skipped.

8) Put in the sliced shitake mushrooms don’t pour the mushroom water away!

9) Pour in the mushroom water, simmer and let it boil a little until mushroom is soft.

10) Add some salt if it isn’t salty enough for you liking.

The sauce is ready to be served. The pasta should be ready by now too.

Ta-dah!

Home-made Shanghai Styled Pasta (the name derived from a pasta menu I used to eat from Shakey’s Pizza, sadly can’t find it anymore now).

It should take about 30-35minutes, to prepare this but can be shorter if you have the ingredients ready way before (like in the morning) you start cooking. Hope you enjoy the meal.

A run I never did...

Yesterday (Sunday, 10th July 2011);

In conjunction of the Jurong Lake Run 2011, my company participated in the 5km run hosting the company’s Family Day as well. There is a 10km run as well, of course definitely not for me haha! To find out more of this run visit Jurong Lake Run 2011.

Waking up as early as my usual working day, haha hubs and I prepared to go run!

At about 8:15am; the run would be about to start.

Of course, I am not a runner. Not trained… Jogging, and stopping and taking pictures and jogging again. Blogger got to take pictures of places they go don’t they? Haha! But the view of the place will be blog in later days :P

Took me under 1 hour to complete the 5km stretch.

Finish line! Whoppee!

I managed in the end :p ... with a price to pay. My whole body ended up aching through the day… It is still now; guess I need more training haha!

I am proud of myself today ^^v !~ (yay!)

I came home right after work and it was early. Finished what I need to do and decided let’s go swim!

Ahaks! No I don’t have such a beautiful figure and I don’t wear a bikini when I swim :p

Before I went to swim, I went to get hubs his contact lenses. I know he would need it for my event which is coming soon so better get it before I totally forget again (yes I keep forgetting, I am near it each time I reach the MRT station before walking home, yet I still forgot haha).

Then I journeyed to Home Team NS opposite my house (ah yes I go in for free now :p. hubs finally got me a membership with Safra. Must make full use of the payment beyond it’s worth haha).

Why am I proud of myself?

XD See Konata says “Good Job” haha! (I love her! she is too cute XD)

Anyway, what happened was… I swam from 8pm to 9:25pm o_o I have no idea how many laps I have done at all even haha! Of course it was not fast strong strokes, it was slow and easy. But I think I did a lot too! *Proud*

But other than being proud, I am also annoyed!

As I was doing my last lap in the middle of the pool, the lights got switch off! Was like what?! It was only 9:25pm and they are supposed to close at 9:30pm! Then the Lifeguard had the nerve to come tell me “We are close”
“I thought you all close at 9:30pm?”
“Yea, but the lights are off now, and it is dangerous for you to swim in the dark”
Er… ooook… whatever >.< As I was leaving I place a comment to the counter. Wonder if they will ever do anything about it. But yes I am still being overpowered by being proud! Haha! I will go swim again soon ^^.

1) I stood here for almost 1 hour staring at the screen not knowing what to write… zZzZz “Writer’s Block”

2) Dozing off at my table (wonder why I am always sleepy now)

3) Having a slight fever… so uncomfortable T^T; but I came to work >.<

4) Realized that I am always surrounded by “two-headed snakes”… ewwww >.<

It has been a long time…

It has been almost half a year that I have kept my silence.

What did it feel like?

Did it feel like it was all empty, dull and grey?

Well, if you really felt that way… sorry… I am back (for now :p)

Anyhoo, it is the weekend again! Sadly I have to work tomorrow, but it is okay! Only half a day! Then I will go home and rest.

I have started swimming again.

I did 8 laps yesterday on my second day of going back to swimming. Of course, I am hoping to be able to do more in my future trips to the swimming pool. I have gained tons of weight since I came to Singapore; must be all the good food I get here… and all the beef I can now afford to eat haha (sadly I can’t cook beef at home T^T). Even when I went back to Malaysia in February 2011 during Chinese New Year, my family asked “What happened to you?” Bwaaah… they told me I have gained so much weight! So I am determined to lose weight! Of course also to move my life into a healthier lifestyle.

“Gambate!”

Wish me luck in achieving my goal. This would be part of my resolution I guess haha (so late in starting it :p)

It was a dread to get out of bed this morning.

I nearly went back to sleep while I was showering haha!

Half the mind I wanted to stay home, but automatically I got dressed, got out of the house, the next thing I knew, I was in the train on the way to work. zZzzZzz…

I have this feeling I might just collapse on my table and fall asleep soon right in front of my computer.

Resolution for the New Year...

Lookie lookie! It is a brand new year!

Well, I am about 4 weeks late but hey! Still a new year to me!

What is your New Year resolution?

I gave up on “losing weight”. Every year same resolution… every year I gained. Haha! This year, my resolution will change.

1) To gain more work experience.
2) Manage my financial.
3) Lessen down my candy intake! Bwaaa~ I have been taking too many sweets… I am already sweet enough! Haha!
4) To learn to only say things that is needed.
5) To take up kick boxing (I have a feeling this will be hard to work. Hubs complained that I don’t even go swimming anymore haha!)
6) Right! To start swimming again.
7) To get the resolutions going!

Haha! Better not make so many resolutions because half those that is mentioned would probably have a hard time succeeding anyway.

So what is your New Year’s resolution this year?

Really tight...

Been having trouble sleeping, but each time after work I just want to rush home and sleep early yet it never happens.

I wake up in the middle of the night constantly. But nothing is bothering me that keep making me wake up.

In the end, I feel lethargic everyday.

Been busy for the past few weeks hence the inactive blogging.

Work is piling, especially since I got no assistant anymore now and my boss decided not to get one but wants to hire another executive. But as of now, I am doing all the things myself.

Kind of tight, especially with all the tight datelines too. Trying to cope… trying to not breakdown.

I wonder if it is stress that is making me have trouble sleeping.

Oh well, here I am dropping by to report… will be back soon again.

Random Notes for today;

1) I tear at soppy parts of movies.

2) I prefer to look at girls more than at guys. But no I am not homosexual.

3) I think girls that smoke and give an impression like them smoking is a real grand thing to do is weird.

4) Having a sore neck, sore lower back, and sore pain from pelvic down the leg at this point of time.

5) I dislike waking up time since I have to wake up when the skies is still dark.

6) I enjoy watching anime; my current craze is Kaichou Wa Maid Sama!

7) I don’t have a favourite singer or band. But I listen to dance music a lot such as songs by DJ ATB.

8) I love sleeping, especially during cold rainy days.

9) I can’t resist McDonald’s Double Quarter Pounder.

10) Finally it took me half a day to think of this random notes. Now I am dizzy haha!

I remember there was this one time that I tried to make Carbonara Pasta but failed miserably. This time I tried again and of course with hubs helping;

The ingredients (serves two person):
200gm of Spaghetti
1 whole garlic
1 Yellow Onion
1 ½ cup cream
Ingredients of your desire choice of quantity:
White Mushrooms
Sausages
Bacon (you can replace this with ham or do without)

Ingredients are to be cut to desire size. Garlic and yellow onions are to be diced.

I begin with putting in some butter to a ready hot frying pan and another pot of boiling water to cook the pasta make sure to add a pinch of salt to have the water boil faster.

That is to fry the bacons to brown, to be crispy.

Remove the bacon after reaching desire taste, throw in the garlic and yellow onions to fry.

By now the water should be boiled, put in the pasta to be cook.

Then add in the mushrooms with the frying garlic and onions.

Put in the sausages when the mushrooms are slightly browned.

Pour the cream in gradually and stir it.

Cook it some, boil it some and it should look about like this.

Add some grinded peppercorns for taste.

Pasta should be cooked by now.

Drain the water out of the pasta and pour on the plate with some butter for taste.

The sauce is ready to b pour onto the pasta as well.

Oh this was a success. Hubs and I enjoyed it and will cook it again soon.

Oh I love these dolls they look so elegant and I like their cloths, so detailed, gorgeously stunning.

Time for us to roll in.

We placed our order; while we waited I decided to take some pictures.

Complimentary Appetizer – Tomato in Special Sauce.

I am usually not a tomato fan, but this one sure made me eating. The tomato was sweet, and the special sauce brings out the tomato sweetness more.

Complimentary Appetizer – Tofu Salada.

Fresh tofu with cucumber and tempura bits with their special sauce. Tofu smooth sweet and the tempura bits blend really nice with it. When I put the tofu in my mouth it felt like it was melting inside... oh that sounded divine hehe.

Complimentary Soup.

Our order came;
The bundle of Sashimis.

Never fail to order Mekajiki and Sake Sashimi. Of course comparing to Ikoi where I went with my gamer friends last year in which I prefer because it was sweeter. This one fresh but slightly bland. Despite that, I still ordered more... I am a sucker for mekajiki.

Salmon Skin Temaki.

Crispy Salmon Skin wrapped in crispy fresh seaweed. Crunchy cucumber... oh what more can you more?

Cheesebaked Crayfish.

Another complimentary dish. The cheese was covering up the sweetness of the crayfish, but they cooked the crayfish well. Not too cooked not too raw. It was good.

California Maki & Salmon Maki.

Ebi Tempura.

The prawn was sweet but the batter too thick. I still like those from Ikoi.

Another Tofu Salada.

This one is covered in their special sauce with sprinkles of peanuts.

Chicken Yakitori.

Fried Gyoza.

Gyuniku Enoki Roll.

Unagi and Tako Sushi.

Yasai Tempura.

Chawanmushi.

This one was a good chawanmushi. The egg tender was firm yet soft. The soup in the chawanmushi was tasty yummy~

Hubs and I have sake as well. The bottle was a cute one.

Look a hole in the middle for the ice to keep the sake chilled.

Hubs and I enjoyed ourselves that night. The food comparing to Ikoi, we both prefer Ikoi. But nevertheless, we still had a great night in Irodori.

Probably because it is not everywhere I can get Mekajiki in the buffet list and I had alot that night in Irodori. Hehe~

When it comes to dessert;

I never say no to Ice Cream!

In Singapore there is this small shop that sells home-made ice cream with real ingredients. Not artificial flavourings.

Located in River Valley Point, Ice Cream Gallery is where I enjoy their Ice Cream every time I am there. Their best seller is the D24 Durian.

Hubs and I, we are their fans. We love their Rum and Raisin and the D24 Durian flavoured ice cream that we never fail to order them.

Here it is time to make you drool over the computer.

To be honest, I think hubs and I just love all their ice creams! Haha! The price starts from S$3.30 (that if I remember correctly haha) which is for a single scoop. Can’t remember the rest... I will need to go again to know :P.

I was supposed to post this a long time ago; of course my move to spend the rest of my life in Singapore took my time since I started work. So I am totally delayed in this haha!

But as promised before I went a really long break, I would show you my previous “family’s” farewell dinner held for me.

I was really touched that so many of them showed up. Of course there were some who did not make it and some who probably did not want to make it. But I am still happy that a lot of them are present.

Of course during the time I was leaving the company, it was near Chinese New Year. So we had “Lou Sang”.

For happiness, for health, for luck for anything!

Shark Fin.

They ordered Shark Fin for me too! Wow! And this one has crab meat in them. Not a lot but there is.

Buttered Prawns.

Of course I was never a prawn person, but I ate these and enjoyed it too though I only had one or two.

Stir-fry and Steamed Fish.

This was a two part fish. Of course the cameraman who tookt his did not managed the steamed fish side haha!

Braised Pork Knuckle.

Glutinous Rice.

I always enjoy this. But at that point of time, I was too full.... from beers and wines!

Mixed Vegetables.

Dessert.

My favorite pancake dessert. There was a "Chng Th'ng" too but since everyone was busy drinking and laughing away, we did not managed to take the picture.

Eventually I did not manage to eat much other than the first few dishes. I was too full! Yes as I said earlier on, from beers and wines. They kept making me drink... haha! But since I wouldn’t be drinking with them anymore... I gave in and let them win this time.

Cutting this short, I was really grateful for their teachings, kindness and of course for looking after me. Thank you.

Well, I shall leave you to drool over this for now. I will be back with more pictures soon.

So it is dreaded...

Monday;

I did get enough sleep since hubs is sick… he kept me awake half my sleeping time. Of course when I was sick, I kept him awake too haha!

But being it a Monday and that it is going to rain now, I know everyone is lazy too! Especially after lunch! What more? Some of you in Malaysia went through a 3 days weekend and if you are taking leave today that would be 5 days weekend! Now wouldn’t we be lazier? Haha!

Of course I have to work today and tomorrow… Working in Singapore; there are fewer holidays that I am sure.

But well, I am happy regardless because I get to spend time with hubs without restrictions now.

But yes… First day of the week and I am groaning. This week I work 5days, yippee!

Means, I can sleep in on Saturday hehe!

Weekend coming near...

Because I need to blog more, so I came by in the midst of my work to drop by.

Well, actually I am feeling lethargic and can't concentrate on my work. Been sick for the past 3 weeks - coughing in middle of the night; in which keeping me awake and now I am lacking of sleep.

But of course I am getting better now. So no worries of me coughing my lungs out.

The days have been hot here making the air stuffy too.

But looks like today will be raining since the sky looks gloomy surely be good for a lot of people. It has been too hot even hubs is having a sore throat now. Got to make him drink more herbal tea... I boiled some on Sunday, tonight we decided to go home and cook plain porridge and sliced some salted and century just to avoid eating too much heaty food. Herbal tea for tonight comes in handy too.

The weekend is coming near, I am anticipating for it though I have to work this Saturday but half a day is nothing. Then I can go home and sleep through the afternoon.

Being lethargic only like since beginning of the week, surely I deserve to anticipate for my weekend to come faster. But then again, don't everyone else? Haha!

Ok I shall leave this for now. Will update again.

It has been long...

Hi all!

Yes I know it has been ages since I came by here. How is veryone doing?

It has been 5 months plus now! My workload is lessening but my responsibility is getting heavier by the day. So eventually takes up my time to make sure no mistake in my work too.

I spend most of time travelling to be honest. It takes about 45mins to 1 hour just thrown into travelling and most of the time, hubs and I will have our dinner outside, so by the time I return I am too tired to do anything else. Even playing game with him, takes up energy now haha! But Of course I will still spend one hour or so to play games with him.

Weekends? Well, I work alternate Saturdays and when I am not working, I spend time with hubs. We would go cycling;

stay home and game;

My should read "Work interfering with my compputer gaming" hahaha!

or just merely resting at home. So my blogging have been push down my "To-do List". Of course I will get back on track. So do lookout for your "Blog Roll" and you might just see me updating.

A Stop By...

It has been more than a month now that I have moved to Singapore, start my new job and getting used to be living here. Eventually of course, I got used to being in Singapore, but my timing has been taken by my work load.

I start my day at 5:50am, preparing to go to catch the latest by 7:10am MRT to get to my workplace’s pick-up point. I work from 8:00am to 5:30pm, but due to the workload, most of the time I leave the office at about 7:00pm. Barely see the sun through my working days. I have to work alternate Saturdays too, so now a days whenever I have off, I am actually resting or spending time with hubs. Explains why I have been missing for so long hehe.

Yesterday, I went swimming. Yes I promised myself I will lose weight and go swimming every other day after work. But guess leaving the office at such late hours will not give me that time. So yesterday, regardless of the time or weather I went swimming. It was a sunny afternoon! I swam a few laps (I still don’t know what is counted as one lap or if it is half lap. Anyone knows?). It sure made me felt all good after the laps of swimming. It sure releases the tense feeling on the shoulders. Of course that isn’t all I felt, my back and shoulders started feeling painful. I took a look in the mirror and my back and shoulders was as red as LOBSTER! Sunburn...

So it is now aching, and of course after not exercising for some time now, my muscles felt the pain too. But to be honest, even with all this pain I was all glad that I went swimming and I can’t wait to go swimming again.

Soon once I fix up all the workload, I should have more time to blog again. I am still trying to get the farewell pictures out, do be patient with me for that.

Of course I don't want to be this guy either. Ouch haha!
With this, I shall end here now and go rest. The sunburn isn’t really doing me good now. Take cares all!

Farewell Dinner #3 (Part 2) : Full House

I have held you all long enough now haha! As mentioned in my previous post of Farewell Dinner #3 at Full House.

We finally ordered our food.

Here are the drinks; they all cost RM7.90 each.

Mango Milkshake

I didn’t know it was Pearl Tea drink... I thought it would be foamy milkshake haha.

Vanilla + Passion fruit Ice Blended

This tasted a lot like vanilla more than passion fruit. But I would say... it was quite tasty.

Honeydew Milkshake

This one was kind of bland. Honeydew wasn’t strong enough. Especially after the ice melted...

I ordered an appetizer too. Sweet Water Prawns Salad; RM9.90

This was too expensive for 3 prawns and a bundle of salad and the dressing was not evenly spread which I was very disappointed with it.

Deep Soft Shell Crab; Cost RM10.90

My friend never fail to order this if there is this dish in the menu! It was good, crispy and of course as usual my friend would finish it off before I could even eat more of it haha! But it is okay, I am nice like that ;).

Forest Mushroom Soup; Cost RM8.90

This was sweet somehow instead of tasting like mushroom. I didn’t quite enjoy it.

My friend’s Chicken Chop; Cost RM16.90

Was juicy and full of taste and this is one good chicken chop. Of course quite costly for it. One piece of flatten chicken drumstick / thigh, some mash potato, and a few “pak choy”... hmmm.

Pan-Sear Dory Fish; Cost RM14.90

Ordered by a pregnant woman, I wonder how she was full from it. Two small pieces of dory fish covered in creamy lemon grass sauce, and some vegetables. It tasted very good, but just too little.

Grilled New Zealand Lamb Chop; Cost RM28.90

Of course this is my; oh this came in three pieces of slab lamb chops. Juicy, gamey and each piece have a line of fat on it. Served with mash potato, carrots and “pak choy”; the vegetable and carrot were hard and bitter. I didn’t eat it... but the mash potato is good for it was creamy and soft; not to be missed.

After our main courses, who could resist not ordering any desserts right?
So we chose Tiramisu;

Oh the Tiramisu was good, for those who don’t enjoy coffee too much; this one in Full House sure will suit for you for it is I believe more cheese than coffee. But mind you, I did not taste much cheese too, so you don’t have to worry about it being too cheesy.

and Chocolate Brownie served with Hot Vanilla Ice Cream.

Chocolate Brownie was too sweet so it wasn’t much of my taste, but I finished off the ice cream haha!

Then of course I got bored while I was too tired to talk to my friends... I took a shot of these stirrers of our drinks.

Farewel Dinner #3 (Part 1) : Fullhouse

It took me forever to come out with this post. Thousand apologies. I have been so tied up with work and all... oh and work is another story totally. I can't wait for me to be able to write on that :P. You all will hear on it :P.

Anyway coming back to this;

My friend has been bugging me since she found out about the restaurant Fullhouse.

She said the place is really nice... and all. Then I saw one in Sunway Pyramid. They did a concept that was picked from a Korean Drama. So we never patronize the one in Sunway Pyramid, my friend insist to go to the one at Ara Damansara. I was hesitant at first, thinking why the need to go so far... especially when I spent the whole day of 5th March 2010, Friday doing all my things in which I was up since 8am and spending the whole afternoon accompanying my mom to the hospital.

Well, eventually my friend still insists on going to the Fullhouse in Ara Damansara telling me it is a much nicer view. So I slept in the car while we journeyed there and my other two friends chit-chatting all the way there.

Oh it is indeed nice! Compared to an only one floor in Sunway Pyramid, this one in Ara Damansara took the whole unit from bottom to top.

Got to admit this bed looks so cosy, at that point of time; I was exhausted! I wanted to crash right into it. If it wasn’t the items there, I would of fallen asleep right there but then again, the bed was too small for my height haha.

Farewell Dinner #2 : Thai-Thai

As promised, here is the 2nd farewell dinner I have on 3rd March 2010, Wednesday and this time with my high school mate.

We went to Sunway Pyramid, not knowing what to eat... We wanted to try the Arabic food there but it was no longer there! I guess they closed down due to minimal business. So we wandered around not knowing to eat and we were hungry! Finally, we decided to go to Thai-Thai. That was my first time there, so I made my friend decide on what to eat. Haha!

She ordered the Creamy Coconut Tom Yam Soup.

Well, it wasn’t that creamy in my point; quite very watery. But it did taste good. Spicy, and the tom yam taste sure blew me away! I like the soup.

Of course what is Thai food without their Green Curry!
We had Beef Green Curry.

Slightly bland and since I always like my beef with the beefy taste in it, this one didn’t have it. Somehow this curry was lacking something... maybe lack of coconut cream. Makes me miss my second sister Green Curry...

Pandan Chicken was not to be missed of course.

Their Pandan Chicken is good, though I am sure they can better.

Pineapple juice.

Nothing to shout about.

We had their Water Chestnut Dessert.

So I heard it was a Thai dessert thing other the Sticky Mango Rice. My friend and I shared this; too little jackfruit and it was thinly sliced! Insufficient water chestnut too.

Overall the meal was a pleasant one. Presentation of the dish is good. Taste are just lacking... they can do better than this. But to my knowledge, other than having a good Thai food that we need to be in Thailand to have, the rest we have around are quite costly. This meal was about RM70+. For that price, to have a taste of what Thai food would be like, it is ok... but I will not go again too much for that. Not worth it in my opinion. Any other Thai-Thai in other places would be better? Do let me know.

Farewell Dinner #1 : Longenhaus

Before my move to Singapore, I met up with friends for farewell. My company gave me a farewell dinner on the 25th February 2010, Thursday. But of course that would be something I will save for later. Do remember to stay tune for it in the near future.

As you all know I moved on the 6th March 2010 (Saturday). The week before I moved, I met up with friends throughout the week after work. On the 2nd March 2010, I met up with my primary schoolmate for dinner. We went to Longenhaus, Taipan to feast on Western food. I didn’t managed much of the food but only the main course.

I had the Tenderloin Beef Steak.

I never fail to order their beef. Costing at RM30+ if I remember correctly, it was a steal. The taste is yummylicious, juicy and cooked just the way you want it. The potato is delicious too. Not too dry, just a little moist and filled with sour cream yum yum.

My friend couldn’t decide what she wanted. So she ended up having their Mixed Grill.

A little of everything she says. She let me tried a little bit of everything. It was delicious. But I was still a Beef Steak person.

In all, the total bill came up to about RM80+. Expensive? RM40 each person... It is reasonable if we eat it once in a while. Not everyday... besides, won’t we get tired of western food every day? Maybe not to me... but for you, I don’t know. What do you think? It is costly for this meal?

Next I had Thai food! Stay tune...

An unexpected... Cheese Baked Potato

My first experience in Winter Warmers, Sunway Pyramid;

My friend recommended their Cheese Baked Potato. I thought it would come out like those potatoes in Oliver’s Sandwich or something.
Of course it didn’t. I was shocked it looked like lasagne haha.

I didn’t quite like it... maybe because the taste of the potato was covered by the mix vegetables. I think they should remove the mix vegetables and put in red and green peppers. That or just none of those...

We both had tea. I forgot what I had and what my friend had haha. So you only get to see the pictures without knowing :P.

I like their cups. They use different sets for different tea. This is unique. But guess they should use the same type of teapot as the cup too.

My first experience in Winter Warmers, Sunway Pyramid wasn’t all that good because of the food. The service was okay but they can do better.

From Singapore...Reporting in...

It has been 4days since I moved to Singapore. The first few days have been tiring especially on Sunday when I did all the packing with hubs helping on Saturday... and we journeyed back in the middle of the night.

It was an empty road... which was good! Means we reach faster haha!
It was definitely a tiring trip. Hubs and I slept through the Sunday until late afternoon. Of course we never did manage to recover from our lethargic. We are still very much tired now...

Hubs went back to work yesterday. I was left alone in the house... of course MIL came home in the afternoon, and she went to take a nap while precious kitty was napping in the living room. I did the laundry in the morning...

Today, I tried to recover my sleep that I lost on Monday night because the whole night my muscles was having spasms and kept me up all night. So I woke up at 11am. Cleaned the room up, showered and went out to buy some food. Not really an exciting day, wanted to go swimming but thinking a friend wanted to swim first but he needs to check with his spouse so ok, I will go tomorrow instead.

So right now here I am blogging and playing some games, reporting in from Singapore. My next few posts will be scheduled post again for I would be starting work next week so I am going to adjust my timing and of course not sure how work would be like. So chances are, I would go on break again... so if you don’t see me posting, means I am still adjusting to my life in Singapore. May everything be well.

A movie, meal and a box of chocolates...

Sometime back, I went with my colleague for a movie – Sherlock Holmes.

The movie is really nice! I enjoyed it a lot. Such great mind of Sherlock Holmes; his observation is powerful! I wish I was like him. It was definitely a great watch.

We watched this movie in Tropicana City Mall. There I fond Royce chocolate for the first time in Malaysia! Hubs have been talking about it forever and I finally found it here! So I bought one.

Look at all the mini bites covered in chocolate powder. I am never a chocolate fan, but Royce wasn’t sweet and it was smooth and soft. Once you popped it into your mouth, it melts. I definitely would take Royce Chocolate anytime!

We went to Ikea after buying the chocolate, and we had dinner there.
Poach Salmon.

The Poach Salmon was kind of bland. The sauce was supposed to be lemon and rosemary sauce... but i taste nothing! Add too much water maybe?

Meatballs.

The difference between the meatballs in Ikea, Malaysia and Ikea, Singapore...
The texture on the surface for those in Malaysia seems to be smoother compared to those in Singapore. Maybe less meat more flour in them...

Malaysia’s Ikea serves their meatballs with fries, whereas Ikea in Singapore serves them with boiled potatoes. Singapore has a healthier set it seems...

Ikea in Malaysia – when ask for more sauce and cranberry sauce; they give you a black face, and we never got the more of both sauces... tsk tsk.

MIL's Cat... her precious

My MIL has a cat that she lets out of the cage when she returns from work and let it in the house.

This cat was a stray cat at the market where MIL found her and picked her up to bring home. MIL loves cats with patches at the eye.

Mind you, the cat does know how to put the kitchen door open... it is a slide door. Did see her using her paw?! She managed to push the door ajar by a bit... of course it will take a longer time for it to probably push a bigger slot to let herself out haha. So we never did managed to capture it opening the door fully to let herself out though :P. We will try again next time.

CNY 2010... Reunion Dinner

My reunion dinner during CNY 2010 was in Singapore with hubs and my MIL. It was a simple dinner and we had “Yu Sang” well, ours weren’t really “Yu”; MIL doesn’t take raw fish, so I suggested cooked sliced chicken.

So what should we call it? “Kai Sang”? Can’t cause the chicken is cooked. Haha!

It was bought, too tedious to make.

Stir-fried sliced fish.

Fish ball and “Pak Choy” soup.

This is made by MIL. I enjoyed it a lot. Especially the vege.

It was a filling dinner... I was contented :). Of course I still do miss having reunion dinner with my own family. After all, it has been so many years that I have it with them; take some time to get used to it.

There we have it my simple reunion dinner for CNY 2010.

Today is my last day at work; I would be probably busy packing and all the next few days... so I hereby request to be on a break again haha. I might post when I can... and when that happens, it might be scheduled posts or me posting and then running off to do my stuffs. So I apologized for not visiting anyone's blog for the meantime. CNY Decorations... that I saw

Everyone wanted to see the Singapore Chinese New Year decorations. I didn’t go to Chinatown to take them shots, it was too hot a weather, and I mostly stuck myself in air-conditioned places haha.

So what did I manage to snap? Decorations of the shopping malls... well, least some of it :P.

Here I went to get my haircut in Tampines mall.

I love these decorations... when it is windy the wind will sway the decorations... so nice.

During the Chinese New Year week, I went for the movie “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief”. I am not going to mentioned too much about the movie, because I didn’t find it that all much to shout about. So at the place I was which was Cathay – ah yes, Singapore has this mall that is named as the cinema and populated by the cinema itself with shops inside.

This was hanging from tall ceiling right at the entrance and the centre areas. Lovely isn’t it?

Hubs and I went to the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station... and outside the pillars of the area I saw this.

Hmmm... more flowers.

The next day we went to Little India to walk about... and this journey will be posted some other time. As we leave Little India, we saw this new mall... City Square Mall. So went in to enjoy the air-conditioning. At the other entrance of this mall stands a tall arch decorated.

At City Square Mall, we saw a fountain like this;

In the lower ground area with just the fountain and a wall of greenery.

Of course then I saw this kid trying to brave the waters in order to stand in the middle of fountain for a picture to be taken so I couldn’t resist but to take a few shots at him. Hehe.

Hubs and I decided to go down and have a look. The whole fountain area is cooling! They have this huge blower cooling the area down. What more! It is all solar powered! Look!

Hubs and I went to Bugis as well during the week. We found Fortune God! A very big one too!

There a lot of people surrounding him, because at the pillars, are the fortune of all 12 horoscopes. So everyone is reading it under the hot sun.

And of course the temples were crowded with people.

We journeyed to orchard... and in front of Mandarin Gallery;

To usher in the Tiger year but no fear, I bet this tigers are not fierce at all because they are as gentle as flowers that it actually shows in them! Haha!

A change... is about to happen

Well, I have told some of you or maybe some of you might have noticed recently I have been tied up and also mentioned a few times about my life would be going through a huge change soon.

Here is the BIG news;

I am moving permanently to Singapore and will be with my hubs soon.

I tendered my resignation with my current employer which I have been working for them for almost 11 years now on the 4th February 2010 and after years of searching; I got a job in Singapore!

So my last day of working in my current employment is 3rd March 2010 and on the weekend I will be packing and journeying to Singapore and my new job will begin at 15th March 2010. Not sure if I can cope with it, but when there is a will, there is a way.

So this is my big change in life… I am moving to my next step. So while I am settling down in Singapore in March 2010, I may not have much time to blog. I will come by randomly and hope to be able to update you all on my status. Do wish me luck for everything to go smoothly :). As soon as I settle down and get use to the new changes, I will be back with you all ;).

Somehow right now, I feel I can relate to levian’s recent post on phases. Looks like we both are going to have a change in life, levian :).
Oh don't forget to wish levian luck too for she is going through a change as well.

At Tim's with friends

During Christmas when I was in Singapore, I met up with my friend who is from Phillipines. He was in Singapore with his fiancée who is a Singapore PR.

I introduced him to Tim’s Restaurant and Café for lunch. Well, we were supposed to do dinner, but decided against it because mom-in-law wanted to have dinner on the same day I was supposed to meet them.

Tim’s had a special menu out for Christmas.

Brocolli with Chestnut Soup.

Now I always love their soup. Always tasty and full of flavor!

Garlic Bread.

Of course we never fail to have this with our soup.

A small garden salad.

Only served with the Christmas set. Usually no salad with their normal set.

Hubs meal.

I don’t remember what this was called, but is sure had a lot of things. Turkey ham, Chicken Meat, Sausages, and some that I don’t remember haha served with Cranberry sauce.

Yum~ makes me hungry for it now. But only served during Christmas.

Lamb Chop.

This is my order; it was also another Christmas menu, I think the sauce was different from the normal ones. I always had Tim’s beef set, but this time I thought I would try something else instead. Their lamb chop was good! Lots of meat (not just all bones) and juicy! It wasn’t that gamey so it is should be suitable to all people. Though I always prefer gamier lamb chops :P. I took two different shots of my Lamb chops. Which looks better for you? :P

Dessert of the day.

I don't remember what cake was this, I think it was cranberry cake or something haha. This is Tim’s specialty. Tim bakes all the cakes himself. My friends had a fruit cocktail, was simple but I like how it was presented... I didn't get a picture out of it though... was out of my angle and friend ate it before I could take a picture haha!

The things in this picture is not edible at Tim’s :P.

One morning, as I was waiting for my colleague to come over…

I found this cat…

...outside of my house.

This cat have been coming into my house’s front yard and poo-ing there! That very morning as I was outside, it came again… kitty there, saw me… and slowly sat down… for how long I was there, it was there sitting… waiting for the moment to go into my house’s yard and poo.

Kitty ready pounce maybe?

I don’t know what it heard while it was sitting there waiting for me to leave… but seriously, this cat stood there for as long as I was there. I wonder if kitty managed to go into my house after to do its business.

My family isn’t very excited with kitty poo in our yard… if we wanted kitty poo in our yard, we will rare the kitties ourselves sheesh.

Anyone got any methods to make them stop coming to our yard?

I have been storing all my coins in my Pringles can for some time now... Yes, a Pringles Can is my “piggy bank” haha.

Each time I reach home after work, I will take out my coin pouch and empty most of the coins leaving only RM1 of coins in it to use during in need. So I managed to save a whole can of coins. It was filling up so much that I can barely keep anymore coins in it. So I decided to pour them all out and count them to bring it off to change for Ringgits.

Here’s the bundle of my coins.

Money save regardless of the amount… is money earned.

With coins saved;

We get dollars. Ooooh money sign!

I played around a bit with the coins, I made a KLCC hahaha!

I tried to make a standing KLCC but of course I failed and he became all a bundle of coins again :P.

After all the counting, I managed to get RM140 out of it! Wow! I was RM140 richer that day haha!

What do you do with your excess coins? Do you keep and save them like I do?

Singapore Christmas Decorations #2

Yes I know I am VERY OUTDATED on Christmas post! Please forgive me for I have been busy right after Christmas and was on a break to settle my work. Of course I am not fully back but it is Chinese New Year now! So I will be posting some! But to be honest, from today probably for a week or more are scheduled post. Why? Well, because I will be away this Chinese New Year.

So coming back to the reason of this post :P. Christmas Decorations in Singapore!

On the same night after taking all the lights at Orchard Town, I went to search for falling snow made out of ice (so I was told). I was really excited! Of course but it was late when we arrived, so the snowfall was LONG over.

But to my horror! Hubs and I found this!

Gasps bubbles o_o! So the snowfall made of ice was wrong… it is actually bubbles too! I was teasing hubs for giving me the wrong information; he said “I didn’t know too! I thought it was ice!” haha! Poor hubs :P.

So this is the place where “snow” falls.

I don’t know, I thought it was a monster attack tree at first :P.

The next evening, hubs and I went to Plaza Singapura to meet up our friends for dinner.

Right in front of Plaza Singapura was a lot of statues.

I believe all this was telling stories of Christmas. The full story, I am not sure about… hehe :P.

After I managed to finish taking shots of the statues, all of us went for food court type Korean Food.

The Beef

This was kind of bland… but the sauce is good! Taste very genuine Korean beef.

The Chicken (I think o.O hubs couldn’t remember either)

This one is totally bland! Now I think I know why I don’t remember if it was chicken or whatnot haha! All this was cheap, if I remember correctly... it was for SGD6.00 a set. Can't recall really haha :P.

On the journey back to the Dhoby Ghaut MRT, we passed by the Sultan’s Park (or something like that haha!) This was a grand shiny thing I saw!

I couldn’t resist not taking a picture of it.

Hi everyone!

I am back for now! Missed me? I miss myself hahaha! Kidding kidding… I miss all of you! But again I am not fully back yet. Things in my life is going through a huge change. I will tell you all about it later.

But today’s post is about Christmas decorations in Singapore! Oh I should be posting about Chinese New Year, I know I know! But I was too busy… so this one comes out now haha! There are a lot of pictures in this post… don’t say I didn’t warn you :P.

Singapore’s Christmas decorations was based on the Icicle Theme, least that is what hubs told me. What I will show you is in Orchard Town.

Hi all! I am taking a break away from my work! Currently sitting in LCCT waiting for my flight to Singapore to spend this weekend and my upcoming birthday with hubs and guess what?! LCCT is equipped with wi-fi now! But hey limit usage to 2 hours per session (though I am not sure if it is session or per user).

So since I am waiting for my flight and before the battery goes bye bye, I thought hey why not drop by my blog and say hi to everyone? am trying to blog hop a bit too... so far I managed to read Reanaclaire's blog. But it is so sluggish to load! I tried to load some of the other blogs all the same! Gosh! Hair pulling waiting for it to load!

Well, I can't expect much from free internet I guess. Least I can post! I can blog a bit! But sorry I didn't manage to blog hop much... my notebook battery is dying too hahaha.

So I better put a close to this before I can't post this up haha! I miss all of you! I hope to be back soon, really! Oh another good news! Comp guy manage to retrieve my data from my dead HDD! Wheee! So I got my things back! I will post them up soon! Miss me ya! Hehehe!

Saying Hi!

It has been a while since I last posted... Of course this doesn't means I am fully back either.

Just dropping by to check things out and let you all know I missed you all so much! how is everyone doing?

So, here is a rant; I was doing some editing to make a out of the blue post on my long ago supposed to post Christmas Decoration in Singapore. Sadly, I did not managed to save them into a backup drive... why sadly you asked? Well, my office Hard Drive died on me.

Most of the pictures for my blog posts and my work data was inside including all the Singapore Christmas decorations, though the Singapore Christmas Decorations are still available for me, so I can still retrieve them but anything other than those, all gone :(. I am hoping that my computer guy can retrieve my data... else I would be even busier than before it died because meaning, I also have to re-do all my spreadsheet, formulas and etc again...

Anyhow, here I am letting you know that I do miss you all... and my recent dilemma. I will try to return soon, can't tell when since I might have to re-do all my work again. Do take cares all and be well!

Taking a Break

Hi all!

I am sort of back… not fully yet! Got lots of things to rush! Beginning of a new year is coming soon, so I got a pile of work for me to deal with.

So I should not be around much anymore until all this work is done. I apologize if you drop by and see neither update nor any replies to your comments. But I want you all to know you are all in my mind all the time :).

So here is a heads up! I will be taking a break from blogging to get work done. Please do miss me yea :P. Yea you read that right! Do MISS me! Haha!

After my Dinner with “Yakisoba” People” post, I promised you Mac and Cheese, but I delayed it for a recent happening that I had to share! But today I am again going to delay the Mac and Cheese (probably after a few more post too haha).

The next day my family and I went to One Utama for our yearly shopping.

Of course I did not fail to take shots of the Christmas decors.

It was beautiful… all in white… and the cages was rotating (I should of take a video of it but er… family was and they rushed me). Makes me feel all peaceful among all these White Lyrical Christmas! Somehow Christmas just always gives me the peaceful feeling haha.

They were giving away a theme gift too.

It is a musical egg shaped box I think (tell me if there is a better name for this). But you have to spend RM500 and above! Gasps! Really making people shop! I didn’t read properly though… I wonder if we can combine receipts. If we could gasps! I failed to get it… because I believe my family bought for about that price if items!

I didn’t go home empty handed.

I got a free bear from Jaya Jusco. Cute yea? Hehehe… I gave it to my colleague’s daughter after taking a shot at it for memory :)

Movie and Christmas Decors

will be postponing my Mac and Cheese post for some other time… as I think most of my readers are getting afraid to come here because of all the food that makes them hungry all the time haha!

So what will I do? I will post a recent happening. Advance warning, long post with LOTS of pictures ^_^.

As everyone know it was a 3-days weekend again for Malaysians (or maybe some other countries too? I don’t know) just this previous weekend. So my friends and I decided to go watch “Avatar”

(I was searching for the movie Avatar image in the web… and I keep getting Avatar the Last Airbender hahaha). We went to Pavilion, KL (it is my first trip there too)… for the first time I am in a small THX hall… weird :P.

Anyway, the movie is really nice! Touching and I did tear a few… the scene are gorgeous! The graphics are good… I can’t help but kept going “wow!” Though of course come to think of it now, the whole movie reminds me of Starcraft. I do strongly recommend this movie, it is a worth to watch in a cinema. Some understanding is much needed else just enjoy the sceneries. I will not elaborate much on this, because I think some bloggers out there have done better than I would for example Pikey who did quite a spectacular review on it :). Please do drop by his blog for more info of the movie.

While I was in Pavilion I of course went around admiring their Christmas decoration. I was amazed! They really made the place all looked to good. Being in Pavilion, KL I felt so peaceful… it was like I was in fantasy world!

Lovely decorations I have to say! Really lovely. I especially love the drapes… it was so high up, I felt like I wa sin a castle walking under it! Did you notice Santa’s sleigh? Of course Santa wasn’t around… RM10 needs to be paid to purchase a coupon to set a time to meet Santa! What?! I thought Santa was free?! Must be the posting fee to send messages to Santa’s helpers in North Pole.

Going back to Pavilion to shop around and hoping to see snowfall as I was enthusiastic to see it after foongpc mentioned them! So I was eger really very eager! So my friends and I had to return to Pavilion! While I was there, I had to take shots of the white reindeers and sleigh…

But oh so many people! All blocking the view haha and this is my best shot of it!

Nearing 8pm we headed to the place of where the main entrance is… of course we were at the floor above. We decided not to go down to experience the snowfall. Why?

Dinner with "Yakisoba" people

During the 3-days weekend of Hari Raya Haji, I was in Singapore… and my last two post was me cooking for hubs :P. (oh yes I cook! Once in a blue moon!) But of course, we didn’t stay home all 3-days when I was there; we went out to meet up with some of the gamers of the current game I am playing now which is Atlantica Online. Another blogger Pikey is playing :D.

So when gamers gather, what do we talk about and do? We talk about game hahaa! :P. Of course we ate our dinner as well.

We went to Ikoi Japanese Restaurant, Miramar Hotel for Japanese buffet. The price is S$33++ per pax.

This is firm and not like a lot of places I have eaten that is watery and it has a whole prawn inside (peeled, head and tail gone).

Oh this is heavenly! They got Mejajiki too! That is my favorite sashimi!

So of course since I am allowed to order Mejajiki on its own, I did not hesitate to order more! I think I ordered like 4-5 plates of this. Oh it was so sweet… yummy!

I know some of you my readers don’t take raw food, so I apologized for it but no fret! I got cooked food to show too!

The Ebi Tempura prawn is fresh prawn! Not oily, crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside! Oh delicious! Of course without fail, everyone at the table ordered like probably about 40-50 more pieces of those!

Complimentary Hotpot

I am not sure if it is a hotpot… but oh this is sweet! The put the salmon bones in it to boil… the soup was so nice! I took all the Straw Mushrooms :P. I love those!

Yakisoba

This came very late after we ate so many other things! They keep getting our order wrong and bringing the cold soba! Weird! Haha! But we had to try this even if were full! Why? Because in the game this is our guild name :P. Now you know why the title of this post ^_^.

There are a lot more of the other foods that I forgot to take a picture of such as Chicken Yakitori, the pregnant fish thing that I don’t know its name and don’t eat, fried rice that came in a really small bowl but was oh so delicious, and etc etc :P. We didn’t order everything in the menu of course… I was attacking the Mejajiki I forgot about the rest! This place has no beef in their menu. They got sake too, but that is part of the ala-carte menu and not the buffet.

Well, I can’t post up the group picture, not right to do so when I do not have their permission :/. So I shall keep that to myself. I hope you are not drooling by now over the food above. I know I am! Dangit! Now I want Mejajiki and Ebi Tempura.

Home Cooked : Macaroni Fruit Salad

Well, other than my fried rice from my previous post; I also made hubby Macaroni Fruit Salad.

The ingredients:

A can of Fruit Cocktails
A pack of Nata De Coco
A bowl of Macaroni
Mayonnaise
(all ingredient amount is up to your liking)

A pot of water to boil the macaroni to cook.

Add a teaspoon or two of salt into the water for taste, (also to let the water boil up faster saving us time to wait for it :D) then pour the macaroni into the boiling water. Boil macaroni for 10-15mins or when you think it is right for your liking. Some people prefer it still slightly hard, some prefer it softer, some prefer it slightly harder like myself :).

While the macaroni are cooking in the pot, drain the syrup out of the fruit cocktail and the nata de coco, this is to make sure the salad won’t end up too sweet (leaving some of the syrup is your choice for taste). Pour the fruits and nata de coco out of the packaging into a plastic container / ice cream tub.

After the macaroni are cooked, put it together with the fruits and nata de coco. Add in the amount of mayonnaise to your liking. I put in about 4-5 tablespoons of mayo for that portion I made. I am a mayonnaise lover :P.

Mix them well.

Keep it in the refrigerator to chill and serve cold. Did this make you drool? :P If it didn't I am sure the next post will! Yes it is about food! But it is Japanese food :). Yet another 3-days weekend for me and you (those who are having a holiday). Hope you have a great weekend!

Ladybug keychain! So beautiful… It is from Wenn! Look at the message; written in a really smooth beautiful handwriting. Oh I love the Santa and Rudolph picture too! Good choice of card ^_^. So cute!

Home Cooked : Fried Rice

During the Hari Raya Haji 3-day weekend, I went to Singapore to spend some time with hubs. He wanted to eat my fried rice again, so I cooked for him.

This are the ingredients for our fried rice.
Rice – 2 and ½ cup for three persons.

Shoulder Ham, Onion, Garlic and Eggs.

Sliced ham, Beaten Egg, Diced Onion and Garlic.

The diced onions and garlic are the first to go in :P.

I always like this part hence the only cooking process I took a picture of (well, hubs was the camera man haha).

Hubs decided to help on the cooking too so he helped flip the rice so it wouldn’t burn.

Well, not much of the process explanation here nor picture of the process! We were so busy cooking! Hahaha! So what do you think? Does it look good? Does it make you want to eat it :P?

Warm, Touched

My colleague goes home for lunch every day; for a few days she joined us to pack for lunch and ate in the office because there was no transport to go home; one day she has transport… some of my other colleagues teased her about it going home for lunch and playfully asked her to join us. She said “Can’t my mom boiled soup today.” Another colleague said “Oh got soup so nice…” So I added in, “I want soup too…” and the rest of us left for lunch and did not see her until later.

Lunch hour ended at 2pm, she returned to the office. She came up to me with a container.

She said “Soup~ hot be careful yea.”

I was in shocked for a while! She really got me soup! I was joking and didn’t think she would really bring me some!

Eventually I was really very touched. It was a cold day and to get a warm hot soup from someone was really nice. I was so happy and I thank her a lot of times much for it. The soup was delicious... she said her mom used Chicken feets and necks to boiled the herbal soup overnight. It was sweet and the herb taste was yummy. Oh I love it definitely.

The next day she even brought me Red Date drink and no this time I did not playfully ask for it. Being in cold days and getting such warm stuffs, even without these warm liquids, her caringness made me all warm inside.

I would show who she is, but she is camera shy… and it is really hard to get a picture of her. So sorry for those who wants to know who this sweet person is :). But I can ensure you, she is single but no longer available… oops.

I got "Calpis-ed"!

Some time back Lina posted about a drink from Japan, Calpis. Of course it got me all excited! I wanted to try it! I was waiting to see one day if I go to Jusco to buy which is where Lina bought hers from. But I didn’t go to Jusco… and I was eager to try (lina’s fault for making me want it so much! :P)!

One day I went to USJ 10, Taipan and I saw 100¥en shop.

Ok I was bored after dinner with my colleague so I figured lets go in to take a look around. Then it came to me when I walked in and saw their fridge of drinks! Calpis… (insert zombie sound here for brains and change it to Calpis). First thing I searched for, Calpis Water. Oh to my Delight!

I got Calpis Water and a Calpis Soda!

Calpis Water is made of Yogurt and Citric Acid mixture (of course with other stuffs that I don’t know of). Calpis tasted so yummy! Milk-ish, Sweet, yet slightly Sour-ish (Well, least I think so hahaha) and of course slightly carbonated, only slightly(in my opinion-lah)! Calpis Soda is mixture of Lactose and Citric Acid (I think) and this one is much more carbonated compared to Calpis Water. Both still taste delicious nonetheless! I enjoyed it definitely… I want more… It was selling for RM5.90 in the shop for the 500ml bottle. No they got no bigger bottle T.T

This is one of my childhood snacks. I used to love it when I was a child and always pester my mommy to buy them for me haha. This is vanilla flavored and only flavor there is in the shop. I still prefer Strawberry :P. This was also RM5.90, kind of expensive in my opinion, but for a genuine Japan product it is worth it once in a while ^_^.

Lina! I tried Calpis Drinks! I love it a lot and now I want more! RAWR! Thank you for introducing Calpis Drink to me ^__^. For those who love milk, this is something you should not miss out :) (I wonder if I will get any commission for promoting Calpis Water for them haha!). Now I need to search for their flavored ones…

Doughnuts

I finally got Krispy Krème Doughnuts!

Wow it is definitely different from J & Co.’s, Dunkin Donuts or even Big Apple! I find them sweet glazings and fillings.

The doughnuts.

I bought a dozen of them, oh yes you read it right… 12 pieces! I had a few same ones because there were a lot of people in Mid Valley when I bought it. Besides, I usually love doughnuts with filling instead of glazers. So it was hard to choose haha.

Chocolate filled Vanilla Ice Krème.

This one is quite sweet for my taste but it was definitely unique and delicious. Even after keeping the doughnut in the refrigerator, the filling didn’t hardened still liquefied.

Strawberry filled.

This isn’t too sweet at all! Which is good; I really like this one too~

I didn’t manage to take pictures of the other 10 and also a Custard Cream filled Doughnut. Family took them… and like I mentioned before, they have a thing of me taking pictures of their food :P. As for the Custard Cream filled Doughnut, was my fault… my camera ran out of battery and I forgot to charge hahaha!

Good morning to everyone!

A 3-day weekend sure passed by really fast! How was your 3-day weekend? I went to Singapore to spend time with my hubby. So I will have more to post soon about what I did in Singapore ^_^. Would it be about food? Would it be about places I went and saw? You will have to find out when I post them!

This was my very first FC in blogging world that I receive “linky love” (who started the word linky love anyway?) which was on the 21st August 2009. The excitement begins! I want more! Of course I managed to get more FC from LKP. Up to date 7 more! I am lucky in LKP blog!

It wasn’t easy to be FC on LR’s blog. Of course I was excited! So I managed to be FC on LR's blog on 8th September 2009 *excitement*.

Tekkaus' blog.

This was my third. Another hard place to be FC; I had a gut feeling he would be posting soon, so I kept refreshing his page! Oh such luck finally an update! I was FC! It was like winning another first prize! Hahaha! 18th November 2009; being FC on Tekkaus' blog... noticed both dates has the number 8? Is that a sign?!

Fourth FC;
foongpc’s blog.

It is always hard to be first commenter in his blog, but I managed that day on the 20th November 2009 (eh why doesn't this one have number 8 in it?)! I was lucky! He posted at 10plus in the morning… usually he post at the very early morning; my brains have yet to work! So I don’t browse through blogs until like maybe 9:00am or 9:30am.

Backdated : Ice Cream Session

Today I thought I would catch up on my backdated posts. Else everyone will keep reading on outdated happenings! So I need to catch up *runs runs runs*. With that I also decided to post this up today… ah yes I know I barely post on Saturdays :P. This is exceptional because I need to chase after time!

Continuing from the previous post; we decided to go to Swensen’s for ice cream! Again for me haha! I can’t never resist ice cream :P.

On our way there, outside of Swensen’s there were displayed of lanterns made from recycled items.

This lantern is made out of plastic containers and in the containers they put in some items to make the color shading. I think I saw in one container, a bundle of condoms (used or not I don’t know yea >.< ).

Hubby was trying to be creative, taking this salt and pepper at creative angle. Do you think he made creativity? :P

Backdated : Walk through Chinatown

Today is a holiday! For me at least. Happy Hari Raya Haji to all my Muslim readers :) For non-Muslims, have a good holiday (not applicable to those who are not having this holiday... sorry :S )

Anyway; back to my trip in Singapore in Sept;
After dinner at IKEA;

Four of us decided to take a walk at Chinatown for me to view the lightings of Chinatown during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

I was amazed all right.

The main Road.

They decorated up the stretch of main road at Chinatown. So brightly lit up yea? ^_^

Crossing over at the top of Chinatown, I saw this Chinese Style Pavilion.

How unique… I definitely don’t see this kind of things at where I reside.

Strings of Lights.

Lanterns of Lights hanging everywhere above us! Did you also notice the massive of people? It was a very crowded that night.

I saw this ice cream stall!

I remembered that FuFu posted about his trip in Turkey and of the ice cream that is all rubber like. Click here to read about it.
So I was like oh it is here in Singapore too! I got to try it! The guy played a few tricks on me before giving me the ice cream haha. See the second picture? See an ice cream cone on the floor? The guy actually dropped the cone while he was playing a trick on me :P. He tried to make it like he dropped the cone while passing to me… but he dropped it himself haha! Of course I did get tricked by him. This guy is from Istanbul, was nice to pose for me and smile for me to snap a picture ^_^. This ice cream maybe different from the one FuFu has, but it was something I had to try.

As we exited Chinatown;
I saw statues that depict the Mid-Autumn story.
Chang Er.

“The time of this story is around 2170 B.C. The earth once had ten suns circling over it, each took its turn to illuminate to the earth. But one day all ten suns appeared together, scorching the earth with their heat. The earth was saved by a strong and tyrannical archer Hou Yi. He succeeded in shooting down nine of the suns. One day, Hou Yi stole the elixir of life from a goddess. However his beautiful wife Chang Er drank the elixir of life in order to save the people from her husband's tyrannical rule. After drinking it, she found herself floating and flew to the moon. Hou Yi loved his divinely beautiful wife so much, he didn't shoot down the moon.”

Wu Kang then went to live in the mountains where he importuned an immortal to teach him. Backdated : Dinner at IKEA

I shall stop with the Wordless for a while… need to catch up on my backdated post, else I can’t get to my recent posts haha.

So here goes, after the dinner at Turf Club hubby and I met up with friends in IKEA for dinner the next day. I warn you not to read this on an empty stomach! If you have an empty stomach now… come back after you have eaten. Any cravings after reading this post is not my fault :P because after blogging about this, I am craving myself too! Haha!

Anyway; (you still have time to leave and go eat first…)

We left the house at evening. I caught the sun setting behind the trees.

I couldn’t resist taking a shot of it so I did! Look at it, so beautiful :).

We were actually late, because our friend was doing some window shopping in IKEA for ideas to decorate their soon to buy apartment earlier and of course was there already since afternoon.

Look at the crowd in the place. Hard to see… I know the picture is blur, but hubby was rushing me going “Already late! Hurry up!” (least that is what I remembered he said I think…) haha so I took a lousy shot… though of course there is no guarantee that I will manage to take a good shot if he didn’t rush me either.

“You don’t have to be rich to be clever” Oh so very true! Don’t you think? Fits in a lot ways somehow! Hehehe.

We soon arrived at the restaurant. It was definitely crowded! Our friends took a table of 4 people and only two of them were sitting there, so it was awkward for them… sorry for making you both look like bad people~ *bows repeatedly*

The food we had;
Stuffed Salmon.

Hubby wanted Poached Salmon actually but they did not have it that day so our friend decided to order this for him instead. Hubby shoved most of this to me =.=

Swedish Meatballs.

Of course a never failed dish to order! I definitely love this. Their cranberry sauce is much nicer than one in Malaysia. I wonder why and they give you more sauce and cranberry sauce if we ask but not in Malaysia! Stingy people pffft!

Fried Chicken Wings.

Singapore IKEA has friend chicken wings! I remember in Malaysia, the IKEA I went to near the Curve only has Roasted / Grilled Chicken Wings. I wonder why… but the Fried Chicken Wings are yummy. Not too salty… crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Oh and this picture was slightly over exposed and blur, was too hungry after looking at all the food myself I guess haha!

I miss IKEA’s meatballs already… But since I ate those in Singapore, the ones in Malaysia just doesn’t come anywhere close to compare anymore.

Ok enough of making you hungry. Hee~ *smiles evilly* >:D.

Backdated : Dinner at Turf Club

I continue with my backdated post; Dinner at Singapore Turf Club on 25th September 2009; Friday.

Some of you might be expecting something grand! Like maybe a grand dinner, or a formal event but I tell it isn’t, it was really a simple casual event. It was an event held by Hubby’s company supplier.

So before dinner started, I of course went around with hubby to take pictures.

I am not sure what it is! Water tank? Satellite Tower maybe? Can anyone tell me? :P

Turf Club Track.

This is my first time I get to see a turf club in real life. Yes I am like a “frog under the well”. I have not seen a lot of things before other than through the idiot box :P. so of course I would never miss taking shots at it!

It was mid-autumn festival then, so there were lanterns hanging everywhere.

I was greeted with the food counter and this purple flower decoration when we entered. Don’t look purple in my picture lah… yellow lights was too bright :P.

Thisis the appetizer I took the most. I love potatoes and they had three types of potatoes here. I don’t remember which are they, but yummy with mustard sauce oh so delicious.

They got Mango Crème Brulee! I never managed to take closer shots of it though. But hey, I can say, I ate a lot of it! :P.

Simple as it is… The Chn’g Th’ng was refreshing… yet another no picture~ I was not feeling well then… so I forgot a lot…

Horses came!

I have never seen horses in real life too! Oh the way they move was so elegant! Oh now if only I can ride one… or even know how to ride one! Hahaha! Wonder if the horse will throw me off if I do :P.

Yes it is my toes! My painted toes. Remember I posted about my pedi and mani and I showed you my painted toes? But this time I get to show you all it with the heels. It does look better in my opinion. What do you think?

Birthday for Mommy - TGIF

I decided to come back to time today and post on a recent happening before it goes too stale :P. So I decided I will LURE you with a food post today (levian used the word “lure” haha!). But don’t worry! I don’t have a bunch of food to show this time so I doubt it will make you all go into hunger before lunch :P. Besides, it is going to be lunch soon! Hahaha!

So in conjunction of my mom’s birthday last week, my family decided to go to TGIF for dinner on the weekend.

Oh in advance, I only managed to get picture of my food, my family’s food is usually harder to take, and they are not really fond of the idea of me delaying their eating time just so I can take pictures. Sheesh! They don’t know my passion for writing :/.

My drink – Strawberry Lemonade Slush.

Now this drink was yummy! Sweet, and sour all in one. Very refreshing; not too sweet at all and the taste of the strawberry oh so compliments the lemonade.

I ordered beef as usual for my food;

New York Strip with Cajun Cream Sauce accompanied by Cheddar Cheese Mashed Potato and Boiled Brocolli (I forgot what it was really called for the broccoli).

Oh it was juicy and yummy~ I love the mashed potato too! Cheesy taste, creamy yum~ The broccoli was fresh and I like simple boiled vegetables. Sorry LR and molly for you both don’t take beef for religion purposes.

Of course I ordered it medium raw.

Don’t seem so raw… not much blood oozing out from the picture, but it did later :P. So, Ayie I am sure you wouldn’t be turned off by this picture on the beef hehehe.

The cake for my mommy.

My brother cut it before I could snap shot it (see that is how my family is… =.=) but I am sure you won’t notice :P. The cake is bought from Berry’s Cake House, a half KG Fruit Delight. Somehow became my family’s favorite cake. Fresh cream not butter, and filled with a lot of fruits.

Servers at TGIF sang my mom a Birthday song. Somehow a trend there for them to do so to every customer who are celebrating birthday there. Friendly servers and efficient; I wouldn’t say no to go there at all again :). Of course as long as I can afford the price it is fine ;).

Doesn't the title shows two thing? :P TGIF for today and of course the place my family and I went last week. Hahaha! Ok this ends my recent post :P. I will leave you all to drool over the food here for now.

Backdated - Went to Church for Lunch

So here I come back to my backdated post of the week in Singapore. I continue from my last post where hubby and I spent a day out with my family and they never showed up in the pictures.

On the next day – 21st September 2009, Monday;

Hubby and I decided to bring them for lunch before heading to the airport to send them off to go home. So we decided to go to Church… that is now an F & B place. The place is called Chijmes.Chijmes used to be a church in the good old days before the conversion to an F & B place. To know more about Chijmes click here as I do not want to bored you out with its history hehe :P.

Opposite Chijmes is Stanford Court.In case anyone is in the area and wants to know where is Chijmes is or vice versa.

The interior of Chijmes of course is beautifully structure… look at the water fountains.Reminds me of places in Europe I saw in movies.

Eat outside by the water fountain.Wouldn’t it be nice… refreshing place to eat dinner with? Of course this picture is taken during the day, and the sun is shining or so brightly! But I believe the night would be recommended. Of course that is to me, but those who love the sunlight, it would be a really nice place to be~

How about this?Eat at the surrounding of a park, trees… be a great environment when the wind blows. Reminds me of Paris somehow, I wonder why.

Of course my family and we did not have our lunch outside, it was too hot and most of the restaurants are not open yet. Based on the List of F & B Tenants in Chijmes, looks like most of the tenants only open after 3pm.
Hubby and I wanted to bring my family so the Cosafe Maid Bar and Restaurant, hubby told me a girl of age 16 (of course that is in the year of 2006, so means she is 18 now) runs the place, but too bad it wasn’t open yet. So we ended up in Hog’s Breathe. No pictures of the food were taken, we were too hungry, we forgot.

After that my family left Singapore. Hubby and I get our own time to ourselves. We can relax more and there is no need to rush about to bring them around anymore. A sigh of relieve.

Hope I didn’t bored you out with this post. Not much of pictures to see and not much to laugh about.

I got "Poisoned"!

I decided today not to bore you all out on my backdated posts in Singapore during my R.O.M. week. So let us talk about something else for this post.

As everyone knows, Sesame Street became 40years old just 10th November 2009.

Look how young they are :P. Now don’t we wish we would be at 40 and still young as them? Oh wait won’t that mean we have to Muppets? Haha.

So I was telling hubby about their 40th anniversary and he told me about Cookie Monster’s song!

I was like what?! Cookie Monster has a song? So he found it gave me a the link of the video.

Then what happens? The song got stuck in my head of course! I kept singing it when my mind goes idle… and I call hubby up randomly and sing him the song! He “poisoned” (he used the word poison hahaha) me!

Don’t ask me why… I find that he is one of them that is not lame hahaha! So he told me “Oscar got song too” Now I guess every Muppet sings in Sesame Street and have their own song. So I searched…

So he loves trash! But this song is long… I doubt it will be stuck in my head hahaha…

I got poisoned by hubby with Sesame Street. Today when I MSN-ed him with Oscar the Grouch song lyrics he said "=.= u been sesame-ed!!!! lol" Whoops! Am I going to start growing sesame seeds now?! NOOOOOO!

After my R.O.M. and the dinner dishes post;

My family stayed for another 2 days in Singapore to take a break, go on vacation. So my husband and I are required to bring them about. I figured, ok since I never been to Singapore with my whole family before, I thought I want to go the Merlion to have a picture.

We head out the day – 20th September 2009;

On our way to the Merlion I saw;

The eye of Singapore.I have never been on that. I have never been on the eye of Titiwangsa one too! Haha.

We arrived at the Merlion Park.
And found Merlion standing tall!Nice yea? It was so crowded! So many people! Eeeks!

Merlion and Esplanade at the background.Where is my family?! When all this Merlion pictures are taken? All hiding in the shade in Coffee Bean. I know it was hot, but for one picture only! Only one! No I didn’t get a picture with my family with the Merlion. Tsk tsk~

Now a Boat.Husband told me it was formerly a tank. So instead of scrapping it, they make it as a tourist transport / boat now.

We didn’t spend much time there. Only 5mins and hubby had to pay SGD5 for parking (or was it? I can't recall... where's my husband now?)! Daylight robbery just because it is near to Merlion and I forgot where he parked :/.

Since my family has had breakfast near the hotel, hubby and I decided to bring them for ice cream at Ice Cream Gallery, Valley Point. We were early and they were not open yet, they only open at 11:30am. So we sat outside of Starbucks and just talk.

I was bored so I took a picture of the Service Apartment’s “water fountain”.Nice yea? Actually hubby took the shot haha. He has better hands :P.

Finally the time for Ice Cream Gallery to be open has come! Oh I was craving for their ice cream and I was hungry too. Hubby and I have not eaten yet. I failed to remember to take the picture of the ice cream waffle hubby and I shared. But I did not forget the hot dog we had :P.

After the dessert session, family wanted to buy moon cakes for hubs’ mother. So we headed to Chinatown!

I saw this shop – It is a Chopstick Shop!The whole shop filled chopsticks! All kinds of Chopsticks! If you’re looking for chopsticks, I bet this is the shop to go to. Haha.

After that, we journey to my bro-in-law’s aunt place and the rest of the day was us resting away. Was a tiring hot day, though it was only half a day spent out in the sun. But I guess it was the travelling and the lack of sleep.

The next day we went to Church… and that shall be posted next :P.

Backdated - R.O.M. Dinner Dish

Recently I have been posting about the process of my R.O.M. which includes the dayflight experience, went and declare that I am single, sharing a Hanis’ roast chicken , had dinner at Canton Bay during a dinner and shopping trip, got pulled to go for Pedi and Mani and showed you all my ugly mug shots during my R.O.M. evening.

Before I ended that post, I gave you a glimpse of the food menu… (did anyone click to enlarge it to see? I bet you didn't! Hahaha :P.)
Today I shall show you some of the food we had. Noticed I said “some”; because I didn’t get to take all the photos of the food. In fact this food picture was all taken by my husband best friend’s wife (dishes on the individual plates) and the official photographer (Peking Duck first two pictures).

Whole Roasted Peking Duck.Being skinned to serve its skin.

Prawn Crackers.To eat with the skin of the Roasted Peking Duck.

Wrapped Roasted Peking Duck Skin.Oh the skin of the Peking Duck is so crispy and juicy! Yummy! (and the fact that I was hungry, I barely could taste it really… I just gobbled it up. So much for tasting the taste of the skin)

Braised Spare Rib with Capital Sauce (Non-Halal-lah this one)The meat was so tender, yet so soft… it was very well marinated with the sauce.

Braised Homemade Beancurd with Honshimeji Mushroom and Local Spinach.The beancurd looks like the Japanese Beancurd, but it isn’t so you know. The beancurd is soft, sweet… the mushroom and spinach definitely compliments the beancurd.

Fried Rice with Crabmeat and Conpoy Egg White.There were really shredded crabmeat in there! Well, I was a tad too full to eat much anymore after so many dishes.

They stir fried the Peking Duck meat with vegetables before they serve the Fried Rice so we were really full! So much meat yea? But no picture of the stir fried duck.

Chilled Mango Sago Pamelo with Jelly Royale in Young Coconut.Oh this is refreshingly tasty! I only managed a few spoonfuls as we were too full and had to go around entertaining people. In the end, my husband and I had to pack ours home but because it doesn’t have preservatives, it spoilt the next day. So sad… SO SAD! HUBBY! I WANT MY CHILLED MANGO SAGO PAMELO WITH JELLY ROYALE IN YOUNG COCONUT… fresh one! :P

Sorry no picture of some of the food, no one managed to take a shot at them. Poor food, got left out. Anyway, those without pictures are :
Double Boiled Shark’s Bone Cartilage Soup with Fish Maw and Bamboo Pith – this soup was something very different to me, I wasn’t really used to the taste to be honest. But it was their house specialty! So I finished it anyway :P.

Steamed Soon hock fish with Fresh Lily Bulb and Mince Ginger – Oh the fish meat was so smooth and yummy! The fish so fresh.

Fried Prawn with Wasabi Sauce accompanied with Sauteed Prawn with Salted Egg Yolk – This is the best I took! All the guests enjoyed it. The taste of the prawn melting in the mouth, the taste of the salted egg yolk, and the other a wasabi sauce covered… yum yum yum! Wonder if my husband will bring me there again so I can taste the food better this time :P.

Backdated - R.O.M. Evening

So before my R.O.M. I have taken a dayflight for the first time of my life to go to Singapore to go through the declaration of being single at the R.O.M Office, had a roast chicken meal sharing it with my then fiancé at Hanis, dinner and shopping with friend and also went for a Pedi and Mani. So the big day comes (really very small… but still a little big right? Haha).

With all the anticipation from a lot of people, this shall begin and those who wanted to see how I looked like can do so now :P (treasure it as it won’t happen often :P).

The evening begin, I had to go get a makeover. Spent over an hour just to sit there and have a makeup artist play with my face. After it was done, my face felt so heavy and uncomfortable; mind you I am a person that barely puts on makeup at all… so out of a sudden a heavy splotch of stuffs gets on my face of course it is uncomfortable hahaha.

Here is how I look like with painted face.

So not me >__<” This is me without makeup.I look so different without makeup right? Scroll up and down for the difference hahaha.

Look at the centerpiece.So beautiful, and I like how they use those plastic pieces as decoration. Makes the table look so untouchable haha.

Joined in Matrimony.The file that holds the certificate that states we are officially married. No more turning back :P.

The newlyweds with the Solemnizer.Very professional guy, made some humor; too bad we did not managed to record the process of the solemnization down. Since we were slightly late, I didn’t manage to pass the viewcam to someone to take the video for us. Wasted, else his jokes and our speech would have been a real laughter to be watched again. Oh I am so not photogenic when I am made to pose all of a sudden... I need to relax more haha and I got a certain angle where I look better. Front is definitely not my view.

Here is our official photographer for the event.He is handsome right? I am not sure if he is available… but definitely single… who wants his number (girls only please; I do believe he is straight)? All the pictures above are taken by him :). Great shots yea?
